So according to the new tool, a regions positive new cases are averaged to come up with a % of positive cases for all the counties in the regions

Regions 8 & 6 Medium risk and able to move to Phase 4 are regions having 1.2% & 0.6% positive new cases

Regions 1-6 Medium-High risk and still stuck in Phase 3 are regions having 8.8%, 7.2%, 6.1%, 4.8%,4.4%,2.4% positive new cases

Experts put the benchmark of 12% positive new cases to begin opening up

Michigan lowered the benchmark 10% positive cases to begin opening up

The new tools test thresholds are:

>20% = High
10-20% = Medium High
3-10% = Medium
<3% = Low

Whitmer’s own %’s and thresholds don’t even match up and all are below the 12% benchmark

The medium risk regions should be Low
And the medium-high risk regions should be medium

Grouping the regions as she has, she’s holding whole regions back, because 1 county, Kent, is above the threshold of 10.1% while the rest of the counties range between 1.1 and 9.8

With her benchmark of 0.6-1.2% to be only in Phase 4 is ridiculous
To punish a whole region for one county is also ridiculous

So for positive tests my area has had one day in the last two weeks above the 10% mark. And two days the entire month. And the 7-day average has been below 10% since the beginning of the month.

Zero deaths in last 7 days, and two deaths the rest of the month.

And these regions make no sense at all, as I have to travel out of my region for work, pretty much everyday that I am not working from home, as none of my customers are in the region I work in, nor is my office.

OK do you recall a couple weeks ago when Birx claimed that the CDC had inflated cases by about 25%?

Well the reason for some of that is more people are getting antibody tests, they have been lumping the positive antibody test with the daily new cases column

If I am reading the information correctly, Michigan appears to have almost 70,000 positive antibody tests recorded


Michigan just started recording cases differently, is this why she opened things up, knowing we would see this graph?



She doesn’t even follow the 12% by experts, she lowered it to 10%

Well we’ve been below 10% a month!



Experts say one benchmark to reopen the state will be when positive virus tests fall below 12 percent.

Since the peak of daily new cases, that rate has fallen as the number of tests has risen

One of the metrics Gov. Gretchen Whitmer has used to gradually reopen the economy is whether the percent of people who test positive for COVID-19 steadily falls and remains below 10 percent.

Michigan had seen positive tests fall for weeks but, on May 13, the state reported that it had spiked to 13.2 percent.

It turns out that jump was based on the inclusion of nearly 6,500 serology tests, of which 35 percent were positive. The actual positive test rate for people with an active infection that day was 5.3 percent, the new numbers show.



We have been below 12% since April 25th
We have been below 10% since about April 30th
We have been below 5% since May 12th
We are at 4.1% May 23
