Hydroxychloroquine (brand name Plaquenil) is an inexpensive, globally available drug (tablet) that was approved for widespread medical use since 1955. It is commonly used today to treat malaria, systemic lupus erythematosus and rheumatoid arthritis.

It is not a vaccine. It does not guarantee that you will not be reinfected again. Now if the virus infects millions of people over and over again, do you still think the there will be enough supply?

Also, viruses are known for resistance mutation which is a mutation in a virus gene that allows the virus to become resistant to treatment with a particular antiviral drug. Knowledge is power.
