Fuuuck. My body can't take the stress right now.

Fuck you trolls.....skull_fing

sigh...I can't be on GLP with my buddies while having this issue, due to the trolls.

Normally they don't upset me like they are now....but I'm not going to allow it to cause me problems, and they're so fucking ugly, they just can't stop.

Those of you having kind thoughts and saying prayers for me, thank you....please if you will, keep it up. I do love you and you and you (etc.) very much!....hugs

I'm going to HAVE to be alone now. A sarcastic "thanks" to those rat cretin bastards who can't manage to be decent people.

Maybe they did in case you need surgery.
They need to make sure your lungs are clear before they put you under.

Sauerkraut and smashed sweet taters do it for me. Whoosh! The miracle cure. Avoid fried foods and red meat like the plague. Sometimes I will brave it out and mix some diatomaceous earth (food grade) in a drink or salad and that really gets things 'moving'.

They are doing a chest xray to make sure that you do not have fluid in your lungs or in your heart or chest cavity.
Sometimes a bowel obstruction can cause fluid to build up.

Castor oil will help your bo. I had it and Edgar Cayce came to me in a dream and said to put a castor oil pack on the area. I woke up and found I had some castor oil and out it on and immediately I felt it working. Now when I get that pain I anoint the area every time I have a pain or cramp and it will take away the pain. I know from experience.it works. Cayce saved my life that nite.

My gawd, that would be so fabulous! Just put some oil on my belly and one of the most painful conditions subsides.

Look its cheap treatment and it helps a lot of things, rub it all over your belly, up over the liver. I do it and put on a tank top wife beater type top - and then one of those waist trainer things that makes you sweat to heat the area up. Or you could put a heating pad on and lay down. Some will advocate for the flannel packs and that's kind of extensive to me. I smear it on thick, put on a tank top, put the waist trainer on top and go about my business. It will absorb through the skin.

I hope you feel better sweetie you have been through an awful lot these past couple of years - you should head that cosmic message to slow down - I know you will fight that thought - but spirit is getting damn insistent with you about it.

I've been in this place before (BO, hospital, surgery, etc.). Funny thing is, the last time I was in this ER for all this BO crappola, they did not image my chest.

Now, I've had 4 mgs of morphine, and even I know the chest has so little to do with the small intestine.

The CAT Scan tech was cool, though. A patriot and boy howdy, he'd make a kickass GLPer.

And believe you me, if I wasn't in such dire shape, I never would've come to a hospital. I tried riding the obstruction out, but almost 20 hrs with it wore me out. The pain, the puking....it just got overwhelming.

Anyway, if you have to go to the ER, be prepared to have your chest x-rayed, even if it's a broken foot you have.

And please be nice, I've had a really rough day.

When I went to urgent care (a walk in clinic) Tuesday morning, they x-rayed my abdomen, but not my chest, for her to see whether or not I was obstructing, which I was. Did she fuck up, too?

Sorry to hear about your pain because i've heard that bowel obstructions are one of the worst pains anyone could ever experience. Good luck in the management of such pain. which can be rough.

The chest x-ray is probably standard procedure for any surgical procedures to be done in hospital. I would not fret about it.

I can relate to your abdominal pain. It was in mid-january where I had experienced extreme abdominal pain,.. to the point where I was also forced to go the hospital.

a CAT scan was taken and my surgeon found a 10cm. abscess in my colon, due to diverticulosus. (sp?). I was admitted immediately and 12 hrs later shipped to another hospital for drainage of the abscess and then forced to wear a colostomy bag for 1 month. For 6 weeks It was the worst pain experience in my life rivalling the pain of extracting a tooth without anaesthetic!!

I hope all goes well with you CGhf

Yikes! given what YOU went through, I'm looking okay....hugs

Like I've said, an obstruction is worse than a massive heart attack...and I know, because I had one last year. Just barely worse, but without any doubt worse.

I'm not in the pain I was in now. I just feel like I went to hell and back, and got in a fight while I was there. Every muscle in my entire torso is sore as hell from all the intense barfing. A cough is painful. I just clutch myself while coughing, to try and keep it all together in there.

Don't need anything getting shoved out of shape again....tounge

I fully admit that I am skerred it's going to happen again....and I most rarely ever say I'm scared of anything these days. I am TERRIFIED it's going to happen again.

They say it's not unusual for one to follow the other. They did when they first started over two years ago. I had one every weekend for four weeks, and then another about two weeks later...then another about a week and a half later. Heh, I finally went to the ER for that one.

So yeah....I'm scared of it happening again. I'm glad I have an appt. with a specialist next week, because I may just blow my brains out if I'm going to be having something like nine BOs in four months again, like two years ago. It's just too fucking hard.

I'm not in the hospital anymore. I've never stayed there as long as they want me to, the two other times. I was asking to go home at 3 am, but the surgeon told me that wouldn't be "prudent"....good word choice for him, because I like that word, it means something. Pfht, it was the middle of the night, and I wouldn't of had a way home anyway.

The night time dispatcher for the transportation company I work for told me he wouldn't give me a free ride home....and they do give us drivers free rides if we have some place we need to go, and don't have our work vehicle. I of course didn't have mine. I was in no shape to drive myself to the ER.

I called my my boss yesterday after I got home and asked if they had changed policy. She was mortified I was at the hospital and needing a ride home, and was refused. She will be having a discussion with him.

Harhar, I was home 12 hours after my heart attack and the stent put in. I was supposed to be in the hospital five days after the bowel resection two years ago....I went home in 2.5 days.

I DO NOT like being in hospitals......mikeno

They really do creep me out....heh, probably because of all the shots/vaccines I had to get as a kid when we moved to the Philippines.

And of course fuck all if you can get any rest in one. There was always someone coming and checking on me...but that's okay. But still, they are not a place to get rest.

They always do a chest xray prior to surgery. Maybe they think your obstruction will need an operation to resolve. They might also be looking for tumors because obstructions can be caused by a tumor. They are trying to rule out that it is the only one.

I'm sorry, AC...but either some of y'all are thick, or you just haven't read the thread.

Re: In the ER with a bowel obstruction, so why are they imaging my chest?

They took the chest X ray because it's the standard procedure if surgery is considered needed.

Well, if it's "standard procedure," then why didn't they do a chest x-ray the first time?...they just fucked up then?

When I went to urgent care (a walk in clinic) Tuesday morning, they x-rayed my abdomen, but not my chest, for her to see whether or not I was obstructing, which I was. Did she fuck up, too?

And HI, lovey! Such a long time since I've seen you. I sure hope you are doing well....:send:

Well, due to the fact this is not the first time you have had the same health issue in a week, they (doctors) have to consider since the moment you told them it's a recurring issue some pathologies that requiere surgery, the chest x ray its a parameter to evaluate before surgery by the surgeon and anesthesiologist. Hope you are doing well now.

I'm doing fine, been working in the ER room with covid 19 patients since march, haven't catch it yet, I consider myself lucky.
