And they will. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 75871987 That would give us an excellent reason to nuke China into oblivion. All billionaires, banksters, and people in high-ranking positions of power (both public and private) who have not openly and strongly come out against woke ideology and globalism are our enemies - as are their minions. They are the NWO. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 78879741 Yes. They want to tear it apart to the last nut, bolt and transistor to see if there's anything suspicious. Earlier, the Chinese hid nasty stuff in high-end server motherboards. [link to www.tomshardware.com (secure)] It's a transformer. It's not a computer. so becausd it hardware not software lotta components ln big transformer switch gear etc.how were they made did they use inferior grade material to increase profit margin its a goodthing china dont care if oúr utilkties crash obamalover |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 78961849 It seems pretty clear to me that 15-20 years ago the Chinese woke up and said "We're not going to sell this stuff to anyone any more. If you want it, come and build your factories here ..." Chou En-Lai, head of government from 1949 until his death in 1976, was very aware of the future importance of rare-earth deposits. . |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 78445863 United States 05/28/2020 01:35 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | They probably planted mini nukes in them which would all go off at a push of the button. Or some type of mechanism which would shut them down at a push of a button. We should NOT be buying things like that from China. Quoting: GA Girl You were doing fine until;: "mini nukes"... ....If there is a controller and switching (tapping) hardware inside. All it would take is a line of plc code connecting two phases (upon execution of that line of code) that shouldn't be shorted together. BANG the transformer and some downstream equipment would be destroyed. No explosives of any kind needed. My meaning is that those transformers are very large and the Chines could hide some type of device in them, whatever it might be, that could turn them deadly. I used nuclear as a wake-up. 6.1" in diameter, 33" long, 118 lbs - it could be built in and therefore hidden in such a large transformer (not likely as it would be found out, obviously). You can't take the country's security for granted, and we take way too much for granted in this country, expecting others to play fair, but they don't. Thus, poisoned dog food, fake honey, leaded paint on toys, etc. You think they would play fair in war (or if they planned on a war in the future)? They could hide all sorts of electronic devices in these kinds of things, spread out through the entire country. Remember when we didn't think our Chinese phones were listening in on us? hahahahaha! |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 18972958 United States 05/28/2020 01:52 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | If you read accounts of some large blackouts, you'll find that a single failure causes a cascade of shutdowns as other power generation facilities disconnect from the grid to protect themselves from overload as the load on still-functioning facilities increases. A few large failures can take one portion offline easily, however the recovery time is reduced due to the self-protection. |

Happens all the time these days. The US was confirming the suspicions and then likely trying to find the mole, which also happens all the time. Economic warfare. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 78596028 What is your point? I am much more concerned about the Chicoms shutting down our grid and plunging us back to the dark ages. Don't see a scenario where our own government destroys our grid, but I can see one where the Chicoms do. |

The lead time is 18 months to have one built, and if only a couple of the larger ones go down it could compromise the whole grid Quoting: Malu nli ^ This ^ Maybe it's the labs job to reverse engineer the transformer so we can start building here for our own new USA based transformer company. Most likely the new company will be owner by some elite expolitician or some current politician's kid |

Don't fear the truthbeare User ID: 78957698 Canada 05/28/2020 03:45 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | US Federal Government authorities seized a 226-tonne electricity transformer made by Chinese company Jiangsu Huapeng Transformer Company at Houston port last summer and took it to Sandia National Laboratories in Albuquerque, New Mexico, for unspecified reasons, The Wall Street Journal reports. Quoting: LoneStarRising The lab, which is operated by Honeywell International, handles contract work for the US Energy Department associated with threats to national security, the report added. A US representative of the company, Jim Cai, told the newspaper that it had sold more than 7000 such transformers in the past two decades to numerous international customers. Cai was unaware of what had happened to the transformer until he was asked for comment by the WSJ. US President Donald Trump on 1 May signed an executive order for the DoE to find and ban devices from the power grid made by foreign countries that were considered a threat to national security. A report in Politico said Energy Secretary Dan Brouillette had recently played down concerns from industry that new clean energy projects could be inconvenienced by the order. [link to www.itwire.com (secure)] remote kill switch in the transformer to fuk us up when China invades? time to bring it home folks, start making stuff here again, we cannot afford this any longer. |
