I know, people with a low IQ usually don't understand what correlation means and entails, but it is what it is, I'm not going to waste my time trying to explain it to the tards.


any way, the IQ part can be inferred from the Gallup poll results showing how the mask compliance increases with the higher education levels, being highest among the post doctorate level ... and educational levels and academic achievement have a strong correlation with the IQ scores, especially in the STEM field..


actually you can directly observe the fact here at GLP, people most vocally against masks tend to believe the most dumbest BS things and don't understand exponential function for instance or basically anything requiring numeracy ...


and similarly with the psychopathy and the Dark Triad personality traits, just knowing what psychopathy or Dark Triad allows you to predict that psychopath won't wear no stinking mask ...

actually the psychological study in question used the classic hypothetico-deductive method and from the known data on psychopathy derived a hypothesis that psychos don't want to wear masks ... and this hypothesis was corroborated by the empirical data gathered via survey

Psychopathic traits linked to non-compliance with social distancing guidelines amid the coronavirus pandemic


New research provides some initial evidence that certain antagonistic personality traits are associated with ignoring preventative measures meant to halt the spread of the novel coronavirus SARS-CoV-2.

The study has been peer reviewed and accepted for publication in the journal Social Psychology and Personality Science. It is currently available on the PsyArXiv preprint website.

There is also prior research suggesting that people high on the Dark Triad traits may knowingly and even deliberately put other people’s health at risk, e.g., by engaging in risky sexual behavior and not telling their partner about having HIV or STIs,” Blagov told PsyPost.


“Early in the pandemic, and in subsequent months, there were numerous reports of individuals purposefully coughing, spitting, or even licking door handles in public, either as a way to intimidate others or as a way to rebel against the emerging new norms of social distancing and hygiene. I was curious whether the Dark Triad and psychopathy-related traits may help explain such behavior.”


Blagov found that lower levels of agreeableness and conscientiousness were associated with a reduced likelihood of endorsing health recommendations related to social distancing and hygiene. In other words, people who were less sympathetic/cooperative and people who were less responsible/organized were less likely to engage in preventative measures.

In addition, people who scored higher on the psychopathic subtraits of meanness and disinhibition tended to show less interest in social distancing and hygiene. Meanness and disinhibition also predicted the endorsement of behavior that puts others at risk of infection, such as touching or sneezing on high-use surfaces in public. Disinhibition reflects poor impulse control, while meanness describes the lack of regard for others.

Adaptive and Dark Personality Traits in the Covid-19 Pandemic: Predicting Health-behavior Endorsement and the Appeal of Public-health Messages


Abstract

Who embraces directions to socially distance, boost hygiene, and protect others during a pandemic of contagious respiratory disease? Do differently phrased public-health messages appeal to different people? I based predictions on the five-factor, triarchic psychopathy, and Dark Triad models of normal-range and dark traits; the extended parallel process model (EPPM); and schema-congruence theory. In a survey of 502 online participants, normal-range traits (esp. agreeableness and conscientiousness) predicted endorsement of social distancing and hygiene, as well as the appeal of health messages in general. Consistent with the EPPM, conscientiousness and neuroticism had an interaction. Dark traits (esp. psychopathy, meanness, and disinhibition) predicted low endorsement of health behaviors and the intent to knowingly expose others to risk.
