Don't buy chips, ice cream, etc. Plan your next meal in your mind way before you start to get hungry. Quoting: Windsage Mid morning and mid afternoon snack keeps the metabolic fire burning. Handful of almonds and half an apple; half an avocado and grain free crackers. Find acceptable substitutes for your cravings. I used rice pudding as a substitute for ice cream, to which I am still quite addicted. A bowl of cold cereal also seems to be something that replaces that ice cream desire. Figure out ahead of time what you can use as a healthy replacement for each of your cravings. Eat GOOD fats, and plenty of them, that's the key to having the weight come off fast. Nuts, avocados, sunflower seeds, olive oil, salmon, and only cook (fry) in avocado oil which tolerates high heat better than olive oil. My nutritionist took me off dairy products except I could have a little bit of goat cheese. She had me eat a HANDFUL of almonds and pecans for my mid morning snack. Stay away from sugar. Replace with fruit. Add a few healthy foods, subtract the worst offenders. I do much better if I plan my daily menu when I'm not hungry. I have a large salad for lunch with avocado, pecans, a steamed vegetable, and a small serving of fish like cod or salmon. Eat more plants, less processed. Don't get hungry, that's why the healthy snacks are important. Thank you for your advice |

Did it on a plant based diet with healthy fish as the main protein, healthy fats, remove sugar, healthy snacks. All the joint aching and muscle stiffness literally vanished, my energy level improved, I would think about doing something and find myself just doing it rather than 'putting it off til after I rest'. Sleep improved, I got happier, bought new clothes, look ten years younger. It's not about calories, it's about getting the metabolic fires burning again. |

Hard option. You need a diet and exercise a lot. Do not change your daily routine suddenly just use common sense e.g. exercise when you dont feel muscle soarness I did bodypump bodycombat programs and it helps a lot. Stop eating fast foods... it's a must. Safe fasting is around 8 pounds max per month so it may take you up to 1.5 year to complete this goal... |

Your caloric count goes down, but then you have a normal influx of food, so your metabolic rate does not decline. You don't want rapid weight loss as that damages the skin and you would get loose skin. Women can have a hard time doing this and since they have a higher amount of adipose tissue, then they would see breast shrinkage, so be upset. |

User ID: 78351008 United States 07/08/2020 09:25 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The trick is to have something ready to eat always on hand! It's usually oatmeal for me. I have a big pot of oatmeal in the fridge ready to eat at any moment...in 3 days I'll throw out any remaining & make a new pot. That is the whole trick. Exercise doesn't need to be heavy...but it needs to be DAILY! A 1 mile walk should do. If I am going to be damned...I am going to be damned for who I really am! |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 78966028 United States 07/08/2020 09:29 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I lots 40 pounds 5 years ago. I have kept it off. What do I eat? Meat of all kinds, lots of veggies, eggs, full fat dairy, fish, olive oil. A three egg omelet with cheese goes a long way to keep you full all morning. Don't skip on fat. Your brain needs it to function. There is no need to starve yourself. You just need to be aware of everything you put in your mouth. And be aware of what you drink. Stick to water. I know many people who cannot lose weight because they love those rum and cokes and margaritas. This will get you. No artificial sweeteners! It f**ks with your metabolism. Seriously. And avoid beer! If you want a drink stick to vodka and soda or dry wines. And another poster mentioned intermittent fasting. This is a very good tool. After supper no snacking. It makes a big difference to forgo that ice cream and chips at night. It gets easy after a awhile. I have found now that many restaurants will turn a sub into a salad if asked. Or have some protein on one of their salads. I usually have to bring half or more home with me. You don't have to be hungry. You just have to eat right. Remember, the food pyramid is bullshit. Turn it upside down and use it that way. |

Then, track your weight the same day and time every week. Track weight-loss based on calories in/out and adjust caloric intake/activity level based on goals. "But that takes a lot of work." Yes, success at things does require work. Scroll through and find one that looks interesting to you and your condition. Won't be easy to figure out what to purchase to eat, but with ideas from other YouTube channels dealing with Keto diet plans you will be able to assemble a good list of edibles. Also, do not eat white foods: i,e. sugar, flour, rice, potatoes, cakes, bread, etc. You want to stay away from Carbohydrates, starches, and sugars. Those are the enemies and will keep weight on your bones. If you think about our forefathers and the kinds of diets they had, then you could see that their way of living was healthier. On the frontier there was no sugar, no flour, no rice. They basically ate roots and freshly killed deer or clubbed fish in a stream. If you eat food out of a box or a can, then it has been processed. Try for a natural diet where you crack open an egg or pull bacon out of a plastic wrapper. The first step is knowing you want to fix yourself. The second step (which is the hardest) is to begin the process and take all of the ridicule from friends and family. Stay focused and within two days of beginning the diet you will see results. Two pounds or four pounds less weigh on the scales is a good result to begin with. Just do not give into the temptation of snacking. Once you begin to figure out how to do Keto then you will overcome the gnawing aches in your belly which tells you to "EAT NOW!!" Resist that urge and eat at regular intervals. |

I'm not saying OP needs this advice, but probably somebody in this thread does. If you go this route, slowly expand the spreadsheet to include columns other than "Calories." Start with the standard variables on most nutritional info labels (Carbs, Fat, Protein, Sodium, Sugars). You can then again, when you have the time, expand your list of variables to include vitamins and minerals. If you try to do it all at once you'll probably get discouraged. But eventually, after finding the optimal intake of everything for a person of your gender, size, etc., you're going to have a spreadsheet that tells you exactly where you're hitting your goals and exactly what your deficiencies are. You can then continue to adjust your diet to include things that you're lacking in your pursuit of optimal health/fitness. Once you get good at Excel you can then simply "solve" for optimal meal plan based on your food inventory levels and tastes. "But that's more than a lot of work. That's a tremendous amount of work and I have Netflix shows to watch." Suit yourself. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 1938311 United States 07/08/2020 09:49 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Simple. Drink 2 protein shakes a day and one well balanced meal before 7pm. Put berries, banana, flax, cinnamon, etc in your shakes. You'll lose it in a couple months. You don't have to exercise with that plan. A little walking would be good. If you exercise alot after that, you'll need a little more food but depends on your body and what you're doing. Just lose the base weight first. |

Women doing it might see rapid weight loss and so the suspensory ligaments could be damaged and breasts get saggy. Guys doing it should ordinariy do well as sure they are hugry, but then eat the next day, so the dieting is not driving them crazy as the deprivation is shortened and tolerable. |
