Then a prez died who chain smoked from a heart attack then instead of blamin the chain smoking they said it was da butter n fat.

Sugar and Carbs create a loop of addiction? Short term dopamine?

I am on the "fad" currently and no brain fog... and more.

Maybe this is good since hard times are coming and many will suffer from finding that fix. Carbs n sugar.

I started a low carb diet when I went over 200lbs a couple of months ago - I do not exceed 45 carbs a day, which means I can have a little bread or potatos everyday in sensible amounts, as long as I do not exceed that number (I can eat as much meat and cheese as I want, and a good amount of veggies). I allow myself one cheat day a week, a whole day where I eat whatever I want and I'm still losing weight - I've lost about 30lbs since I began.

That is all well and good, but please take a vitamin. Realize especially if obese that you have excess skin that has lost elasticity and you want to slowly lose weight so your skin doesn't sag. You need proper vitamins that you might not otherwise get if you don't eat vegetables and some fruits.

All that weight loss likely is combined with ever increasing weight bearing exercise. So you must have calcium due to extensive bone remodeling and lots of vitamin C as you repair very badly stretch/abused skin.

That is especially true for ladies trying to preserve their figure. Good spouses will give vigorous massage to help restore proper circulation and cellular regeneration.

Do not induce hypoglycemia.

Keto is not healthy. I did it for 2 weeks and literally lost 12-14 pounds, yes. BUT, then I spoke with several RNs in my family that explained WHY it's not healthy when my brother in-law who was also doing it turned into a "Feed the hungry" commercial. He looked skeletal and deathly.

In short, when on Keto your body is burning fat but when that is gone it turns to burning muscle. Without consuming carbs, it will continue to do so, which is NOT healthy.

It will eventually turn you into a frail human being.
And let's not also forget that animal protein, according to science, feeds cancerous tumor growth among other things. (Sugar does too)
We were really meant to be herbivores - look no further than your teeth. No, I'm not some nutjob vegan on a mission to change everyone's easting habits - I eat meat. But I listen to those educated in the field of nutrition and health around me. Keto is not meant for long term.

Your primary goal if you do a caveman diet or a ketogenic diet is properly maintain healthy blood sugar levels so you maximally exercise and eat a proper amount of grams of protein based on that activity. Excess makes the kidneys go in overdrive as you cannot store amino acids. There is no metabolic pathway.

The human body can built tissue as muscle and store protein, but based on demand and with less demand glycogen in the muscles will diminish. Ifblood sugar gets low, the brain starts gluconeogenesis. That tears down muscle which is very hard on the body. That is rabbit starvation as seen on the Alone tv series.

There will be a 3 hour finale, and every keto dieter should watch thatas they are suffering from low carbs and low fat but can get protein. Every single one has marasmus going on and hypoglycemia.

A lady on a keto diet must not get hypoglycemia as she could affect her fertility, breast milk production, induce a miscarriage, stop menstrating, and feel like crap and be very moody.

Even out your mood with some hard candy and gummibears or whatever.

I have been on it for soon to be 2 years, I have reversed metabolic syndrome, reversed fatty liver, reversed high blood pressure. Lost excess fat and my BM index has never been better than now.

I don’t intend to leave keto for the foreseeable future.

A lady on a lengthy keto diet will end up like a manic-depressive where they feel very elated and then start crying and feel in the depths of depression. They feel like they are failing at minor setbacks. It usually is sustained hypoglycemia (very low persistent blood sugar).

Your brain has to have adequate glucose to fire neurons. When kids go to school, a little sustained sugar helps to maintain high neural activity.

Because ladies have high natural estrogen from ovaries and body fat affecting the enteric nervous system, and far less testosterone (save for the rare endocrine issues like PCOS), then they are far more susceptible to melancholia leading to depression.

Some should post 40+ consider very light inexpensive testosterone therapy situationally used to boost libido and healthy mental outlook. Their youthfulness declines faster as does men for this reason directly affects muscle mass and skin elasticity and that healthy dewy glow of youth.

Some ladies have more hair, a higher sex drive, are easily passionate, and have an enlarged female appendage (keeping this oblique on purpose) and thus they are unlikely to have lower testosterone post 40. So they may be fine and even thrive on a keto diet.

What you can get by on at 23 is not the same at 43. Many young people will be shocked at their decline. A keto diet may add youthfulness if blood sugar is healthy.

Generally high amounts of exercise when done safely causes a higher incidence of optimism and a very positive body image so higher passion and intimacy. It generally causes mood elevation and clarity.

If you get brain fog, your blood sugar dipped. If you can't shake it off,you need to remedy it with some sugar injection. Drinking coffee has diminishing returns.

In a worse case scenario, especially in a lady, they would get anorexia nervosa. A guy would get marasmus and muscle weakening and ketoacidosis which the ladies would get as well.

That progresses to heart valve failure and cardio myopathy.

This past month I started a low fat, low calorie diet and worked out almost every day.  I lost 5lbs in one month and was pretty happy with the results but I was starving hungry all the time!  
 
So I've been looking into something different that maybe I could be good with doing long term.  

This past week I just started a Keto diet.  So far I'm blown away by the results.  Lost 5lbs in just one week!  Best thing is, I'm never hungry.  

I don't quite understand how this diet is working because I'm eating 50% more calories but losing weight 4X faster.

high fat is keeping your sugar from crashing. When I did keto I went from a 4.8 a1c to a 5.5 a1c, I was heading towards pre-diabetes and I didn't gain weight. It was causing an insulin resistance in me, my doctor told me high fat diets do that. However, you already had problems with numbers so going down to 5.7 a1c for example, for you is awesome considering it was much higher to begin with.

This keto is not for everyone, it best for people that do need to control bp and sugar numbers but I would never recommend a healthy slightly over weight person do it.

There are certainly people with beneficial mutations like Liam Hoekstra who process nutrients differently, but it's unknown for human beings to live on purely keytones for a sustained amount of time.

If you want to be a millionaire, all you would have to do is prove you can do so as every geneticist would want to study a mutation allowing you to live solely on ketones to replentish your blood glucose level. You would be the first known mutation in human history.

For everyone else, it induces ketoacidosis then coma then death if untreated. It's not uncommon as some diabetic loses control of the blood sugar.Since we have lots of diabetics, it's a fair common derangement of sustained hypoglycemia. It changes to gluconeogenesis then tears down muscle, then causes fruity breath, then induces Kussmaul breathing. Then they slip into a coma, and if undetected, then die.

I went keto six years ago. I lost 100 pounds and have since put it back as muscle. I’m 180 pounds and still have a 32 waist.
I run 6-8 miles a day and lift for two hours. It’s an addictive life style for me. I actually always have exercised a lot, even when I was fat. Diet has a much larger role in your body.
I do cheat once a month or so mainly when I get signs from my body that it needs sugar but it’s an easy diet to follow.

I would add you should dial back in some carbs eventually maybe keeping under 100 grams or else you body goes into starvation mode and you start having serious imbalances.
