I looked at the houses on your street, they do not look hurricane strapped in the least. Older 70s or early 80s construction.

You're right in line for the worst of the storm. If the flooding doesn't get you, the wind will. You really need to leave, like right now.

Yeah he was talking on his stream with other storm chasers who were worried about even more storm chasers in a bad place. Honestly going to the coast to chase a storm just leaves you in a huge risk. When you can setup a camera and stream live, I just don't think the drama is worth it.

So many tall pines in that path once you get to central La. Going to be a lot of snapped trees.

they will be laid flat, never forget the storm about 15 years ago that hit North Carolina.

Just about every pine tree was either snapped in half or laid flat.

They must have forgot to teach me that in my La history class. I know the British had their ass handed to them in the Battle of New Orleans.

Louisiana has some cool mounds. Poverty Point, Caddo and Natchez. At one time there were over 200,000 mounds east of the 100th meridian.

Cahokia one of the best sites in its day is one of only eight cultural World Heritage sites in the United States.

Looks like Port Arthur-Beaumont will be ground zero. TFR issued for part of the area, no civilian flight ops below 1500 AGL near Nederland. Beaumont Airport closed by Notam at 1pm. Also a TFR near lake Charles, Recovery Operations only.

Most of that entire area is swamp and tidal flat. It isn’t exactly high dollar beachfront property.
