I think that's a US thing. Not heard of it in London, unless it's new. The UK is not a very big place, and most of the surrounding cities, towns and villages could likely not handle the tide of refugees from London. |

This could be just routine preparedness advice. Quoting: OceanusPrime Although I have to wonder where nearly 9 million Londoners could evacuate to in an emergency. The UK is not a very big place, and most of the surrounding cities, towns and villages could likely not handle the tide of refugees from London. The UK is huge with only 6% built on. Can´t see how that affects the UK though? Quoting: Anonymous Coward 79352001 There were regular posts about that dam awhile ago, but when predictions of it failing didn't come true, the people into talking about that topic lost interest. The famous GLP Effect generally worked until the arrival of Covid-19. Don't know how that magic will work from here on out. |

Quoting: curry nosher [link to deagel.com (secure)] These numbers have been up since 2014 so Interesting. However, we live in an age of "trust no one, truth nothing." 2025 is just around the corner. I at first thought that year was way more into the future than it actually is, but suddenly realizes, hey, this is 2020, not 2015, much less 2000 or 1995. |

The whole Deagal prediction has always been a splinter in my brain for a while now. Since I've studied cycles for a while now, our planet is due for a few to come back around. On a more practical note, everyone should have a go-bag. One in their vehicle, a mini one of sorts if you happen to work away from home somewhere, and one for home if you have to flee on foot due to no car/truck. And thought struggles against the results, trying to avoid those unpleasant results while keeping on with that way of thinking. That is what I call 'sustained incoherence.' ...David Bohm “How, O Zenobia, hast thou dared to insult Roman emperors?” ...Aurelian, 44th Emperor of the Roman Empire |

Someone said "be prepared to spend a night in the open" I thought that was a good place to start. And don't forget documents including paper lists of phone numbers and addresses for a backup. What if your phone was stolen or lost and you didn't even have your parent's or kid's phone numbers memorized? I know very few numbers by heart any more. We all used to know dozens. |

I think that's a US thing. Not heard of it in London, unless it's new. "The campaign 30 Days, 30 Ways UK is a preparedness and community resilience campaign which started in Northamptonshire 6 years ago. The campaign starts on September 1 in line with National Preparedness Month. The aim is to turn the idea of preparedness into a game and asks people to plan for a range of emergencies including fires in the home, power cuts and flooding. The campaign will be taking place all over the UK, with local resilience partners such as the emergency services, local authorities, utilities and health, taking part to put emphasis local actions for each of the 30 key messages throughout the month." |
