Do You Remember your Dreams? ~

FYI: just saying to say.

If you smoke marijuana you will not remember as many.

First week you start to clean out you will remember lots.

Not saying you or anyone smokes. Just putting it in the open for eyes.

Now that would be freaky my man!

Same has happened to me Bro.. It's damn fascinating. How the mind can memorise a totally new destination to you and keep returning to it randomly.. yet it feels like home and you know your way around when you're within it.

Yea I had to cut my nicotine patches in half the dreams were so vivid.

Every night. Unless you have a very good memory, they fade away quickly. Best way around this is to start a dream journal and write the dreams down after waking up. I can remember dreams I had a year ago by re-reading my journal. The dreams have been getting more vivid and intense oer the ast two months too.

DH was tested for sleep apnea. He quit breathing 90 times an hour, sometimes up to 45 seconds. He said he never dreamed. We found out that you dream during the REM cycle which is the deepest sleep. DH never got to the REM cycle because he would wake up every time that he quit breathing. The point is, it may not be that you don't remember, it may be that you really don't dream.

I'm sorry. That is so too bad. Have you tried meditation, not so much for the dream thing, but to settle your "insides"?

I only ever have nightmares of death and destruction since I was a young man. I would stay awake as long as possible to avoid sleeping otherwise I ended up drinking a lot especially when I woke up early. I find that 0.1 grams of weed is the minimum I need before bed to inhibit my dreaming so I can go to bed without worry.

Smoking weed stops dreams

I am of the school of thought that only you can interpret your own dreams...as they often use your experiences and language set to communicate.

Not for all of us apparently...

I have written down enough for a book of tales. Last night was an interesting one.

Me and a buddy hopped a train to get a free post apolcalyptic ride (probably 2021). The cargo train was filled with people drugged out and strapped on gurneys. Then it stopped and started unloading the strapped down people so we secured ourselves in a couple of free stretchers. My buddy had anticipated they would be checking each comatose person so he gave me some drops to dilate my eyes.

I said screw that and sneaked away and ran. Just as I am almost away, the lights come on and I am surrounded by goons.

Then I woke up.

There is nothing that I have found, or am willing to experiment with that has stopped my dreaming.

I'm kinda just ok with it now - everyone is different.

We all experience unique things.

I feel as if you will remember if you need to.

My mother just died a week ago. 3 days after had a very vivid dream.

I very much remember mine and they rarely even fade, though sometimes by the end of the next day they are almost gone.

I don't know why I remember my dreams like I do, it's almost like my other life.

I like Jung's thoughts on dreaming...

Among the hundreds of archetypes, five are usually emphasized:

The persona: the archetype that allows us to take on different roles in life (the "mask")
Anima: the feminist aspect in men (I think it just means passive and accepting)
Animus: the masculine aspect in men (I think it means assertive)
Shadow: the instinctive aspect...the "animal spirits"
Self: the integrative function within us...that which tries to bring wholeness and harmony
Dreams that come from the collective unconscious and express archetypes are "big dreams." In addition to "big" and "little" dreams, Jung also thought there were other kinds of dreams:

Traumatic dreams, now called PTSD dreams;
"Prospective" dreams, meaning dreams that are "anticipatory" of needed changes (this category is difficult to distinguish from compensatory dreams);
Extrasensory dreams, based on telepathy;
Prophetic dreams, based on pre-cognition (Jung said these were very rare).
