User ID: 71882401 United States 11/21/2020 09:24 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Was supposed to be about 30 people gathering, then everyone just decided to do their own household Thanksgiving dinners. Then my liberal aunt was telling me how she had to quarantine in her basement and my uncle would leave food at the door while their two kids and my other aunts two kids all went to the beach, definitely drinking and partying. Then she's telling me about all the sick people she knows, and one died. Funny, I don't know a single person who had the virus. I think it may be a relief since almost everyone in my family is a democrat and dinner conversations are gonna go south really fast if I open my mouth. Anyway, off to the grocery store to buy some frozen turkey dinners, 2/$5 sale, and toilet paper for the coming post-Thanksgiving day BS lockdowns cause "muh cases". Quoting: Rude_Inseminator Lol. No. Once you allow them to get by with this tyranny, they will insert themselves into all aspects of your life. Thanksgiving is on. "May the road rise up to meet you.... May the wind be always at your back..." |

User ID: 79227013 United States 11/21/2020 09:42 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | My 97 year old mom is in home hospice care. According to the doctors she has less than 6 months. However, she is ambulatory, has her senses and is still independent. If any f-ing government thinks my son and I will not spend this Thanksgiving with her, they will have to shoot me and my son. We plan to be careful and keep a mask on in her home and I will do all the serving. According to PA and NJ, I will then have to quarantine for 14 days after coming home, (living in PA). Yep, I will do that for sure --- in my next life time. In the county where I live, the last death we had that was attributed to Covid was Oct. 20th, the one before that was July 27 and the one before that May 19. Meaning we have had 3 deaths in the past 6 months. (Population of county about 55K). We had a car accident that killed more people than that about 2 months ago. I am in my 70s and my son is 50. I am retired and really only go food shopping once every three weeks, visit my mom once a week and go to the post office once a week. My son works from home (he is divorced) and also has minimal contact with others so I see this as a low risk event. In actuality my mom has more contact with people in her home, Nurse, nurses aid, social workers, minister and two friends who pick up some of her groceries. So, F*ck Governor Murphy and Governor Wolf. By the way, Wolf wants us to wear masks outside even when we social distance. Some idiot in the community was actually wearing one walking her dog. I refuse to do that. I can see it now. What is the charge? Prosecutor: Walking a dog without a mask. My Attorney: Are you charging the dog, too? justavet In the end, our regrets are for what we didn't do, not for what we did. |

Not sure how many, think only 6 will gather this year for thanksgiving :( All who call on the name of the Lord will be saved. Acts 2:21 Remember it. User ID: 77504359 United States 11/21/2020 11:40 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | My mother is one of 10 siblings and we typically have 50-70 people at Thanksgiving dinner. When everyone was alive and local, we've had up to 90 people. It's our thing. We use a local hunting club's building and kitchen because no one can accommodate everyone at their house. The 2020 Thanksgiving cancellation started slowly, with the out-of-state contingents staying home. With most of my aunts and uncles pushing 70, they started peeling off one by one and are each having their own dinners at home. Each will still have 10 people or more - we have big families. For the first time in my lifetime, ours will be just my mom's kids and grandkids, and in-laws and assorted single friends. We're cooking for 20. It's sad. It was very special that we all were able to do that every year. Hopefully next year. Eventually, the virus WILL fizzle out, vaccine or not. When the shit hits the fan and the end is just nigh, will you cry out to Heaven? Will you lie down and die? Not me, my dear one - THIS IS MY SACRED LIFE - to no one nor no thing I'll surrender. For how does one know where when dead she will go, or if sweet Mother Earth he'll remember? - Sug |

Of course they will. 1) Close houses of worship - done 2) Cancel Christmas - coming 3) Ban the Bible and any mention of GOD. - Soon True. They succeeded in shutting down churches for Easter as practice for Christmas. If they don’t close churches for Christmas then they’ll consider themselves as having failed. Runningwithscissors <3 |

Lots of mimosa, wine, family, 2 alone neighbors...no masks, just love and thankful we are Americans. . you rock. Here's what I make. I've been toying with a vegetarian Thanksgiving since the 70's. I used to layer tempeh with an old fashioned stuffing inside a hollowed out pumpkin. I don't do tempeh now. Too hard to digest. Now I'm going to soak raw cashews in broth that is heavy with fresh herbs. Then you saute them and they are like chicken nuggets in texture, with a lovely taste. That will be mixed with wild rice and onions, garlic, celery, herbs, veggie broth, and baked inside a nice, hollowed out organic cheese pumpkin. I'll make a mushroom gravy. I also make a wonderful cranberry sauce from fresh cranberries, freshly squeezed orange and some zest, grated ginger, honey and a splash of apple cider. You boil it, cook for 15 minutes and cool. The honey is a natural preservative and keeps it nicely in the fridge for a month. That with the stuffed pumpkin with the usual herbs, mushroom gravy, and you have a hippie Thanksgiving. My daughter in law is doing her grand mother's southern black Thanksgiving. She'll roast the turkey, and she's making mac and cheese and corn bread stuffing. My son grew up with hippie Thanksgiving, and we are combining our cultures into one big feast. Everyone, post what you are cooking. oh yeah, I'm baking my pecan pie that I make with honey and real maple syrup, and she's making sweet potato. |

User ID: 79267566 United States 11/21/2020 05:21 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I have cancelled it. My dad passed away a few months ago and as far as I'm concerned, the holidays can come and go. His birthday is New Years Day so basically I just want to make it until the 2nd. If I could sleep through it, I would... and actually I might. My son is 25 and kind of a Xmas kinda guy but I told him not this year. No turkey, no tree although I will make a ham for a ham and bean soup. With everything else going on, I just want the holidays to be over with. I know my dad would never want me to be so sad but I just can't help it. Maybe next year will be better but with the political environment as it is, I have doubts.... Quoting: thepatrioticgirl I know how you feel, as I lost my husband to cancer in June, and my mother passed away last year. But, OTOH, this gives more incentive to be together, to celebrate the ones still with us, and remember the ones who are no longer here. They live in our hearts forever. Praise God from Whom all Blessings flow !!! |
