User ID: 79251646 United States 09/12/2021 04:54 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Just finished throwing away expired items from our shelter. We're donating the rest to a food bank, then we'll restock at the new house with a better rotation system in place so stuff doesn't expire. Quoting: Riff-Raff We'll also be dumping a bunch of our stored water. Since the well system out there is connected to the backup generator, I won't stockpile as much water as I have been, but I will still keep some in reserve. According to our inspector, the place needs a new furnace, AC unit, and fireplace flue. That gives us some good negotiating power to purchase it for even less than we initially offered. Here's where I need some advice from savvy GLP-ers. We'll have the choice of putting in an electric furnace or propane furnace. We have a 500 gallon propane tank on the property that runs the backup generator and feeds the current furnace. I'd like to go all electric on the furnace so the propane can just be filled and sit there for power loss events, but I don't know if electric furnaces have gotten as efficient as gas furnaces yet and I don't want to kill our electric bill. Any advice on that? If it is a central AC system, why not put the same money into a heat pump that will provide both heat and air conditioning? ... Quoting: Guythu KFC Bets On Vegan Nuggets Amid Nationwide Poultry Shortage [link to www.zerohedge.com (secure)] That was not a safe bet. Lol. Well, pet food makers are now using insects to produce their pet foods. Couldn't figure out why our cats suddenly hated the food we'd feeding them for years and which they loved. Then saw these articles and I connected the dots. They must be using beetles instead of moths to make it. Cats love eating moths, but won't touch a beetle. LOL Now switched to another brand that doesn't use 'insect protein' and they're back to slurping it right up! [link to michaelsavage.com (secure)] [link to www.cnbc.com (secure)] Only a matter of time before Fast Food will be using the same proteins for their food. I'm sure you're right, but most KFC customers would rather eat an actual vegan than eat a vegan chicken nugget. "Following the introduction of cricket-based pet treats in recent years, more insect pet food may come to North America during this peak pet era."... [link to www.cnbc.com (secure)] Lago |

[link to www.carrier.com (secure)] Propane Vs. electric heat.. [link to pocketsense.com (secure)] Heat pumps are worthless in brutal winters. heat pumps are designed to keep the air inside 20 degrees warmer than outside air, so if your in a extreme cold that isn't the best option unless a fire place or some other form of heat. we do have thermo windows our house is 2800 sq ft I run the fire place wide open in the winter if temps get into the 20s the heat pump always kicks on. we keep the thermostat on 72 in the winter. for our climate it works very well but if i lived north of Tennessee id think of a better solution or a dual fireplace on a side note my mom has a 900 sqft she heats with electeric oil heaters and her bill runs around 90 dollars in peak.. and she runs window units in the summer and still avgs out around 90 buck.. which really floored me when she told me.
