there it is. that is what i expect to see. localized outbreaks of viruses. due to the many vaccine versions and different batches, should b more of this happening. more likely than a full global outbreak. not saying the MP isn't related to covi just that the locallized should b more common.d and or vaxes.

I would be more inclined to suspect Covid than Monkeypox for these kids.

I've been looking at the clusters, and following a bunch of folks on Twitter about this.

It does look like a lot of the cases are happening in the gay/bi/MSM (men who have sex with men) crowd. A good number of them can be traced to one particular gay "sauna" in Spain. "Sauna" here is a term for a gay/MSM bathhouse, with private rooms for sex, and a known history of "chemsex" parties (drug fueled gatherings of high risk behavior.)

Since Monkeypox is also transmitted by fomites, this would be a breeding ground for it ... not just for the people who had sex with a carrier, but anyone else who came into contact with infected surfaces.

People are also speculating that a huge Pride event in Gran Canaria, with about 80,000 people present, may have been a part of the rapid spread.

It may have gotten its start in the gay community, but given that it is spread by any close contact (not specifically sexual) and potentially by more casual contact, it won't stay concentrated there, unless there are good containment efforts and contact tracing.
