I think I had one of these land in my hands like 25 years ago when I was a little kid. Looked like a fly but literally covered my entire hand. Are these growing to that kind of size or was it just a freakishly large fly ?

we get those damned things ever year. they get into everything!! they suck!! then comes the infamous cicada killer, the meanest ,nastiest. angry, wasplike creature that doesn't even like it's own kind. What do they eat? Cicada, and they're very aggressive towards anything else they see. i'm not sure whats so damn special about this bug. i'ts only food for something meaner and nastier.

Fish love them. Go to the lake during a Cicada hatch. Everything eats them.

You can catch Carp on topwater when the Cicada are out. Getcha a lil popper that looks like one. The Bass go crazy.
