Too many variables — the best we have is the flood maps (I’ll find which page) but a Tsunami plus debris 20miles from shore and elevated (100’) you SHOULD be okay. Don’t forget it can push into rivers and much of DC is below sea level What do you think would happen to Florida? Last year my daughter was living in FL and I dreamed that I saw her floating in a sea of debris clinging to some debris and she was crying and hopeless in the dark. She's since moved. |

Yes, good question; I am wondering that same thing. I know people on the East Coast that have concerns there.... I've seen crazy demos and simulations where they show the landslide and then this huge GROWING tidal wave that wipes out the East Coast. How the hell does it get bigger and bigger? BS. Put water in a bathtub. Drop a small stone in one end. Result: Small ripple if any on other side of tub Dropping a bowling ball, of course is a different matter. Look at the size of La Palma compared to the Atlantic Ocean with the vastness, depth, and roughness of the underwater surface. I can throw the biggest rock I can lift off the dock at the lake. The decreasing wave/ripple won't even reach the other shore. It dissipates over the vastness. Now, I'm no rockologist, or waveologist, nor even a bath tubologist. Hell, I didn't even stay in a Holiday Inn last night. I'm just looking at the scale of things here. Time to say goodbye for volcano-thank you for all support :) A rainy +8.1C evening from Moscow. Couldn't find the mega Covid thread so posting my symptoms here. I'd appreciate if folks pointed it my way please. I have +38.1C fever, headache, muscles aches and soreness, some chest discomfort, a stuffed nose with plenty of wet mucus. Haven't slept for two days soon. Grabbing some Zinc+D+C+Quercetin for that. This is almost identical clinical picture so far as what I had a year back and the doctors called Corona. Quoting: Snuffielover Now back to your regular volcano DooM scheduling. I had Covid the first strain. A super vicious burning in the throat. I controlled that with super hot licorice tea, got into the shower with water as hot as you can stand, open your mouth towards the steam. I even put the hair drier pointing at my throat. I am an asthmatic, so pumping meds into my throat was vital. I also took brand name Robitussin. It is a decongestant. And opened my nostrils even if not needed with Afrin, a nasal decongestant. I m a long hauler. Still exhausted. My sense of smell and taste finally came back. Much health to you You jackasses have monopolized the forum for 18 months on the subject of Covid. Why not take your concerns to the proper threads, rather than clogging this one up? Time to say goodbye for volcano-thank you for all support :) The geometry of this fault system and the timing of its formation in relation to episodes of vent opening during the eruption indicate that it is not the surface expression of a dyke. Instead, it is interpreted as being the first surface rupture along a developing zone of deformation and seaward movement within the western flank of the Cumbre Vieja: the volcano is therefore considered to be at an incipient stage of flank instability. Climatic factors or strain weakening along the Cumbre Nueva collapse structure may account for the recent development of this instability. Hell, I didn't even stay in a Holiday Inn last night. I'm just looking at the scale of things here. I'm no bathtub-ologist either, but if memory serves my intuition is that your bathtub is of uniform depth. You know how waves normally get larger as they reach shore? That's because the depth decreases. The wave across the ocean would be small or hardly visible probably, as the ocean is deep. But as it approaches shore all that energy gets squeezed to shallower and shallower as the wave grows and grows. -Why are you wearing that stupid man suit? :armouredkitten: |

Something's up. Quoting: eV3y Rather suspicious.. Why the fuck would YT shut down channels reporting on La Palma??? huh????... Maybe they're hoping that the tsunami will catch everyone by surprise and kill them. If we can't get'em all with the death jab, maybe they'll just DROWN! We can't properly evacuate for a hurricane. There is no way to evacuate the entire east coast of the US in time to beat a wave. They won't even try, they know it would be a disaster itself. |
