no kidding, you would think that the design would be such that it can only shoot caps or similar

especially nowadays when they can add cgi sights and sounds to anything

That's the problem... it was a real gun used as a 'prop' or so claimed Alex.

Basically, Alex took a real gun with real bullets and shot two people that were not on set as part of the filming acting during a scene. And one of them he had beef with.

Kind of sounding less of an accident and more like premeditated murder to me.

Why was Alec Baldwin aiming and firing at a non-actor on the set? I can see a "narrative" to protect Baldwin from any responsibility forming.

Not sure the deceased lady's family would agree.

the person holding the gun and pulling the trigger is ultilametelly responsible. if he isn't capable of being trained to handle a weapon safely then he shouldn't be allowed to use one on a movie set!

Just one more thing...

Just got off the phone with contact in the industry who was ten feet away. It really happened. It was a live 45 round. The crew was threatening to walk for the past three nights. Long hours. No overtime pay. Money shot down the barrel. He was directed just to cock it back but fired.

Dummy rounds feel really different from a live 45 round. They are feather light. My friend is convinced it was a horrible accident but I'm having a hard time believing the gun wasn't test fired at the ground before putting it in the actor's hand.

I've used guns on set before and the armorer always demonstrated the safety of a gun loaded with dummy rounds before giving it to me. Click, click, click, click, click, click.

A series of MASSIVE mistakes starting with there being any live rounds on set anywhere.

Or...IATSE sabotage mid contract negotiations?
