In reading about this from news reports it seems he was a "former" Untied exec and perhaps more importantly he was under criminal investigation and had been served a search warrant the day before his disappearance.

They were probably scent dogs, not cadaver dogs. The man’s sweater was used as the scent to track him after he was reported missing.

The chief medical examiner, Richard Jorgensen, performed an autopsy on Saturday during which it was confirmed that the remains were that of Cefolia.

I lived in St Thomas where some black degenerate raped a teenage girl of one of the old French families on island. Like the original settler French families that practice their own law.

In practice, the law would have occupied several days hunting 28 square miles of wilderness.

Instead, they went straight to her location. It took them minutes to reach her.

Sounds like he was either hiding out and (recently) committed suicide, or someone was holding him hostage for the last year and decided they didn't want him around anymore (loose end), so they rigged it to make it appear as a suicide.

Either way, it was recent if L.E. actually found a whole, intact body.

Also notice that during the search for brian Laundrie, they found other bodies of missing people....

Makes me wonder how "intensive" their searches are......
