I remember multiple times slowing down on the freeway because I thought people's headlights were red lights I needed to slow down & stop for. These were probably just women or millennials texting & driving tho. Now you know why the gov't needs a kill switch for our cars! Kidding! |

She was in college at the time.....18 years old. Another car ran into her....even though she was off the road. Her injuries were so bad, a leg had to be amputated. Beautiful and sweet girl. I'm assuming that guy in the video, who stayed with his car, lost his life. How tragic. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 79157425 I can't imagine how these idiots would drive in an environment with snow or ice on the road. They were obviously waiting for you to show up and teach them how to properly avoid disabled, difficult to see cars on a freeway at 80mph and at 10pm at night |

People would've known he was stalled out in the middle of the freeway before they were right on top of him, and would've slowed down much sooner. All of that could've been avoided, had of he just put his cars hazard lights on. And why was the dumbass standing in the road, and then getting back in his car? I mean, was this a suicide attempt?.... Very dangerous, and so much fail.... You never change things by fighting the existing reality. Yeah, I was just thinking the whole time, "how fucking dumb do you have to be to stand there 15 feet away from a pileup as it's happening?" People have zero survival instincts anymore. That's exactly how THEY want it. Sad. |

Because it hardly ever rains there, she said that when it did, there were so many accidents. People couldn't drive in the rain! Here ya go....I just googled "driving in rain in San Diego," and articles appear: Why San Diego drivers are fools in the rain [link to www.sandiegouniontribune.com (secure)] Q. Do people drive a lot worse in the rain in San Diego, CA? A. Yes. Some drivers in San Diego lose their minds when it rains. Last Edited by nutmeg on 12/05/2021 10:26 AM |

In general people are terrible drivers in the cities, did you notice how many people there were NOT truck drivers turned on their hazard lights?? Maybe two? I see people from my high vantage point texting and driving, CONTINUOUSLY, and I mean 10-15 times an hour. And some people are NOT good at hiding it at all. The basics of driving are non existent in I would say, 40% of drivers. And it used to be you could count of "professional Drivers" to be generally good drivers. But with the truck driver shortage I've seen a HUGE increase in idiot big rig drivers the last 6/7 years. It's dangerous AF out there on the highways. Pay attention and slow down. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 79157425 I can't imagine how these idiots would drive in an environment with snow or ice on the road. Heh, I learned to drive in Cali in the 70s. I lived in no-snow-zones for most of my life. I moved to WI.... I do believe it has got to be better to be raised up in snow country, if you're going to drive in snow country. Even here in New Mexico, we get snow and ice. It's not often, but it happens. I was trying to drive a client to Las Cruces for an appt. the morning after a (for us) debilitating snow storm. I was driving down the highway, going so slow, hit black ice, and the car fish tailed, and then went across all the lanes to the other side, turning around along the way, and we landed in a ditch, facing the highway. When we came to a stop, I let out a yelp - ya know, a "HOLY CRAP!, I'm in one piece" yelp - and my client was crying. Just about scared her to death. Fortunately, the roads were almost empty, so no one was in our way while sailing across the highway, and someone came along in a truck, jumped out, got some rope, and pulled us out of the ditch. Heh, we went back home. Never again will I travel on icy roads. There's not anything in the world that anyone needs that badly, that I have to drive in it. ....and I know youse guyses who grew up in snow country are saying, "Pfht, just another winter day for us....yuh snowflake."
