Best and coolest cat I ever could imagine. Sometimes feral cats turn out to be gems. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 80683328 He does eat and poop very much but we have zero mice. We have very few rodent problems since we started collecting cats. We have two ferals that come around. I think they have adopted us. Neither of them meows in the standard sense. One makes a 'mer' noise and the other just grunts. Both tolerate a little bit of attention, but for the most part are on their own. I've been married so long, I don't even look both ways when I cross the street. |

Quoting: PositiveVibration It's also my personal opinion feral animals are a better time and money investment vs some people that are locked up. I agree, and would also state one can never 'tame' a feral animal. They exist as they are, we are simply peripheral to their existence. That is the beauty of it. Some became super affectionate, some stayed distant but always wanted to be around me. Very gratifying to see them begin to trust you especially when I know some of them were abused by humans. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 80695649 United States 01/14/2022 05:06 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Well, cats have a way of showing up and deciding you are going to be their owner. So when that happens, you feed and water them and give them shelter. They will eventually become take - at least as far as you are concerned. We actually tamed a 3/4 grown tom once. My parents had moved into town from the farm, and I had grown up and moved away. We caught him because there wasn't anybody to take care of him and I wanted a remembrance of where I grew up. It took 2-3 weeks, but we tamed him, and he became the best cat we had ever had. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 81856133 Ireland 01/14/2022 05:11 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | 13 feral cats in the back garden & over several months they have become tame. Feral cats will form colonies so every year we see new faces trying to establish themselves within the group. Some like to stay while others are just passing through but all are offered food & veterinary attention if required. In return, they offer their services in the form of free pest control. |

Some cats are more friendly towards humans and understand who is friendly and who isn't. Some cats are skittish / aggressive / timid however much they are cared for. |

User ID: 80804719 United States 01/14/2022 05:37 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Cats are individuals. Sometimes a feral cat will take to an individual. I had one that came out of nowhere and would let me pick him up from the get go. Others not so much. But they definitely will sometimes pick a person to bond with. "Everybody lies." |
