None of us have ever lived through a wartime economy. Not to mention the supply shortages and biting sending all of our strategic reserves overseas is helping prop up th.at price. To prove my point look at the price of oil per barrel it's struggling to get above 110. When it was pushing 130 in 2008 with far less pressures on supply than there are today. Restaurants that pre-make a lot of items and warm them up risk either food wastage (bad) or spoilage (even worse). No faster way to ruin repeat business than food poisoning. Basically I can see it becoming much more common to have 'menu-out' or the board/waitress running you through 'what is left'. People get honest and let their guard down while eating and drinking. There is a reason why such outings have a high potential for office drama. People will accept a level of honesty and 'fringeness' over food. I think it may be some built-in - hey if I can share food with you I have to be able to trust you at least a little. People organize way deeper and more quickly over food in person than they would over the web. |
