I'm not angry at all. And I'm not here to argue, but teach -which was my first profession. The trouble is, most are simply unwilling to learn until the grim realities of life bring them to their knees and in my 71+ years I've learned a great deal about those realities. Too bad you were never one of my students because you'd lack such arrogance today.

That's revisionist history, Pal. Ned Kelly was a stupid, but brave man who fought the system wearing armor made of pots and pans. The lesson to be learned is to not be as foolish as he and to pick your battles wisely. BTW: Ned Kelly did not die from animal wounds, but when hanged from a gaol.

Lost mine 6 years ago at 55. No one wants to employ a half educated, skilled person at my age, unless a gig economy minimum wage hire and fire idiot job, where you are competing with people who are desperate to keep paying their land-lord for their rented room in a house of multi occupation.

Even the slightest protestation and you're terminated (if hired in the first place). There are no "little jobs" for polite, respectable older workers who have been laid off from years of skilled loyal service, unless you are prepared to lick, scrape, grovel and bite your tongue. I assume nothing. I live in the day. Today, if I was to die, all of my possessions and wealthy would go to my kids. If God willing we see another year or a 100 years, so be it.

Again, I assume nothing. But many here assume the worst.

You can only live in the moment. If you spend your life worrying about doom, no doubt it will be your path. Or you can focus on being a person who is giving and is happy to share whatever God has blessed them with, being it material wealth or spiritual wisdom.

Either way it’s your choice. I choose to see the good and to share my wealth when possible. It’s happier life, even in days like these.

Every property I’ve ever purchased was because it was the perfect property for my needs at the time. It was always a good purchase, no speculation. And over time, it worked out well.

Well that's all well and good. And I get why people would buy a bunch of houses to have tenants pay off their mortgage.

But I kid you not, some people will buy a house, put in a modern $3,000 flatpack kitchen with upmarket $600 counters and then flip it for an extra $30,000.

Everyone seems to want to make a bit of fast phat cash using "luxury property", and then everyone bitches about not being able to buy or rent affordable houses.

Virtually every realtor buys every cheap property they can, to remodel and then sell to investors.

Even the msm says you need to borrow money from your parents to buy a place... Fark!

And for some, I suppose that is a way to make a buck, but I’m old fashioned. When I bought any type of property, it was because it was exactly what I wanted and if ever I overpaid a bit, it didn’t matter because it had everything I wanted.

Three things still hold true…. Location, location, location.

Every property I’ve ever owned was because it met those requirements. Over time, it turned out well for me. I only own two now and they are paid in full, so I don’t care if they go up or down. I’d actually like them to stay where they are so taxes don’t go up. But whatever, if you have something nice, it’s taxed to the limits.

Im not dead weight, il be one of the last here but im at a fairly basic job anyways, just most cant work hard enough to keep up. thank god for kratom.
However i was hoping to get into a better marketing type job in a year or 2 so im waiting to see what happens, if the economy crashes hard (its guaranteed to at least be a huge recession) i might have to just stay here on my feet all day. Its hard due to inflammation disorder and injuries from high school.

It's not about piling up resources and materialism or whatever. Excellence is excellence whatever you are doing, a sense of urgency and focus is life affirming. People just aimlessly loitering through life to collect a paycheck are the sad ones. I'd rather be Spartans 300 than Xerxes worthless hordes of commies.

My 2 cents buy the beat boots and insoles you can afford. I use thorogood wedge soles, will never wear any other for work, very comfortable.

I am very fortunate to be a housewife even in these times. My husband's work ethic has given him a reputation that he will always have a job in his field, he has met many people who say "just call me" if he ever finds himself without work.
We are also preppers so we are hoping for the best but somewhat ready for the worst.
