We didn’t see even ONE graffiti sign or one single homeless person. The roads were all in great shape and well cared for..as did all the infrastructure. And we were the majority. Not the minority. What California refers to as “minorities?” We saw just a few at most. I had completely forgotten what that felt like. My husband was often referred to as “Sir” and most everyone we saw smiled at us and were polite with good manners. Even the younger adults! It was quite an experience. Oh! And the local news..had “top stories” of storms and noise ordinance Complaints on vehicles with loud exhausts, like motorcycles. No stories of murders, rapes, robberies etc. Gun stores advertising sales on ammo and Walmart had both ammo and shotguns for sale! And when I say ammo..I’m not talking about ammo locked behind a plexiglass cabinet in cases. I’m talking about boxes of open ammo sitting on easily accessible shelves. It was like going back in time about 50 years. Almost surreal. No exaggeration. Where we are in the Colorado mountains has all that minus the crazy Mormons |
