i drink once a month.

i had a little wine couple nights ago.

I drank for 40 years and finally quit about 2 years ago. I really feel better than i used to.

1999 was the last time i drank alcohol i think

Been so long, not sure if it was 1999 or 2000

I drink way to much.
Every night I want to quit but after 30+ years it's hard.

I quit about the same time. Mainly beer and wine back then. I drank every day. Mainly the space between after work and dinner. Haven't had a drop...

I just don't care about it and never have.

Every million years or so I'll want to "go for it" if I'm at a party and have no immediate responsibilities (which is never, by the way) but I can't even remember the last time I went for it and it worked.

I usually just get full and headachey and give up.

Reality is way trippier and more unreal than any altered state. I guess I prefer it.

I don't drink because I simply do not like the taste.

Im drinking right now. On my third 24oz steel reserve of the day. I am cutting back because I think its affecting me.

Yeah, I really do prefer stuff that tastes good.

Liquid fire in my mouth is not enjoyable, at all.

A well crafted Long Island Iced Tea, however, goes down pretty easy and gets the job done if you're going for it.

I used to drink. I still do, but I used to too.

I drank beer every night for years, until it started giving me headaches.

I switched to Crown Royal, drank that every night for years, until WAY AFTER it started giving me the SHITS.

I switched to Riesling, and drank that every afternoon and night, for years, until I realized I was spending $500 a month on wine, and it made me feel like crap every morning.

I drank for 45 years. I never let it affect my work.

I have been alcohol free for 1 1/2 years.

Sometimes I want a shot of whiskey, but I won't allow myself that pleasure, for fear of starting back, again.

I do feel much better, physically. Mentally, that alcohol surely did keep me MELLOW!

I actually don't drink at all. Never have, besides a few sips of champagne or whatever as a teenager. And I instantly rejected it.

Alcohol doesn't taste good to me and I don't like the idea of what it does to you. So I skipped that whole phase and just never got into it. I've never had or finished a single glass of anything.

recently had some bourbon peaches, but don't know if that qualifies. it's probaboy been 2+ years since i've had an alcohol8c beverage.

oh, i forgot the gin soaked raisins i eat every day...haha, but again idk if that qualifies either.

Now, I'm sick of it tbh it just numbs me to this bullshit world its why i do it i suppose!

I drink perhaps 1-2 drinks per month. At one time a drank almost every day but I no longer enjoy a buzz.

I have lost many friends to alcohol, it always amazed me that I could go from drinking almost every day to just no longer wanting it... So many of my friends allowed it to kill them early in life and wanted to stop but could not.

I personally feel alcoholism must be heredity as many of my friends that did not make it to 50 also lost fathers early on to the drink... I never had to have it, many I know do.

yup my dad stopped about the age im at now and its wearing thin on me too must be herditary like you say. I think i'll drop it soon and come out the other side!

i do not believe it is hereditary. i do think stress which can drive people to seek escape can be hereditary, based on situational/circumstantial factors.

Last drink was ten years ago. Never did drink much. Last time I got drunk was twenty years ago. Spent the night holding on to the base of the toilet because the centrifugal force was spinning me off the world.

Decided I don't need to be around any man who needs to impair my intelligence to get me to mate with him.

With sobriety, the only way to alleviate grief is to actively solve the problem that is causing it. There is no other option. Living in unlivable conditions is no longer an option.
