I'm not Polish and have heard & told a ton of those jokes, but after learning a little about their history I have a ton of respect for Poland. Poland is bad ass.

Always ask, Cui Bono? (Who benefits?)

Does Russia benefit? They could have turned off the pipeline whenever they wanted. Their play was to have a harsh winter and make people in European countries ask the question: why are we suffering? Why do we care about Ukraine? Putin himself said, capitulate and drop the sanctions and we will turn your gas back on with a flip of the switch. Now, they can’t. This action harms Russia, and that’s not even to mention the millions spent on building the pipelines.

So if Russia doesn’t benefit then who does?

The US. Now there is no going back for Europe. They have to be all in on “punishing Russia”.

Poland. Via the new pipeline from Norway, they are the new power brokers in Europe. And they get to displace Germany. Make no mistake, the German economy is now on the brink of collapse and Poland will benefit. Poland and Germany are long time enemies. Not just World War 2, but before even.

So that’s my take. You could make the case for Qatar, but they don’t have the capacity to pull this off. China also benefits from creating chaos but I don’t think that they would be doing the US any favors.

Cui Bono? The US and Poland.

America must be out of their minds if they think their BS alliances and treaties carry an ounce of weight in 2022. Economically, militarily, politically we'd all infact be better off cutting ties with the USA and erasing it from the map.

Makes me think Poland really did attack NAZI Germany, starting WW2.

They didn't attack Germany per se, but committed lots of atrocities towards the German remnant which was left behind after WW1, when Germany lost lots of territories (notorious Danzig Corridor) after the Versaille treaty to Poland which lead Hitler to attack Poland eventually.

The Polish government on the other hand is like many other governments, evil and stupid.

Yeah... Poland made Hitler so pissed he had to attack Poland, decide to destroy all "J"'s in Europe and attack few other countries including his former friend Stalin (On 22 VI 1941 Germany attacked Russia despite signed Ribbentrop-Molotov pact). That all was because of polish "atrocities" ? ARe you serious ?

Silesia was given to Poland after WWl. Silesia, as a minority felt mistreated by Poland. Germany retook Silesia in 1939. It was then given back to Poland after WWll. Looks like they are being ostracized again.
