The canned cranberry jelly is gross as can be.

The stuffing and turkey are dry. I always hated turkey until I went to Europe, where people know how to cook!

And what is the rest of the garbage foods? Tuna casserole with green beans? And pumpkin pie? Most households can't cook it, it's supposed to be very sweet like Trader Joe's sells it. Instead... they make it salty.

I dread having to turn down invitations but I hate Thanksgiving cooking even worse! I can dodge invitations like this

PS: I skip this holiday due the food being nasty but... aren't you supposed to eat SWEET POTATOES instead of yams??

Used to be easy:
Sweet potatoes: beige skin and yellow flesh (IIRC, it's been decades!) and
Yams: red skin with orange flesh.

Now, Google + hybridization have messed ALL of this up. But the above colors were standard.

All I can say is if you can find sweet potatoes that are beige but with yellow flesh (or pale) buy those. They don't look like normal (rounded) potatoes, they're elongated like yams.

Plus sweet potatoes are also healthier than yams. They aren't solanacaes aka nightshades.

That cranberry gel that you dump out of a can and it retains the shape of the can is nasty, but cranberry relish is awesome if it's made right.

My husband's family's oyster stuffing. Just disgusting. Also the green bean casserole with the fried onions on top and the "candied yams" made with canned yams and marshmallows on top. UGH!
