Most terrified you have ever been?
For some reason Franklin NC hates me. Went there as a child in 1992 and stayed in an isolated cabin. Everything was fine until the second night there were these dogs freaking out on the porch trying to break down the glass door. We then heard some strange noises but reluctantly made our way to the car parked under the cabin. I kept looking back in the car expecting to see something.

Then in 2009 me and the wifey took a cabin trip back. Something was off the whole trip. We kept hearing stuff in the walkout basement but when I went to look, nothing....

Wife saw a white entity outside the window. When she told me the next night we got the F out. It was 10:00 pm. We didnt stop driving until we reached Atlanta.

I petitioned to work with/for The Warrens who are well know exorcists. They did a movie about them called The Conjuring.

They have a vault under their house to house cursed items and they make you go in it and turn off the lights to see how you react.

Annabelle's doll is in there and other stuff. I think it was also the inspiration for a TV show from the early 90's called Friday the 13th

The day I walked between a momma Bear and her Cub without
a Firearm. Just had a-pocket knife on me.
I gingerly backed out of the situation and ran like a banshee back to the
4-wheeler.

Acute:

My son's emergency appendicitis
My wife's sudden fever after delivering our son.
My misdiagnosis with an aortic aneurysm.
Having a four person MVC dumped on me with three critically injured and a deceased child. I was Basic EMT at the time, and my partner was a weaselly little shit of a Paragod that declared himself IC. 25 years later and I still want to stomp his ass!

Protracted:
-Waiting to see if our son's anemia was leukemia.
-9/11
-Learning about COVID quite sometime before the average asshole.
-Thinking I had a fucking aneurysm for five weeks.
-Lost in Northern New Mexico hiking.

Another time. We were driving through a small town with about 6 beers in our belly. Saw blue lights approaching and the cop got on our ass. Then he got in the other lane and pulled over a Dodge ram. Whew! I WAS SWEATING BULLETS.

4-way tie for me:

1995: An inexperienced friend, who I thought I had properly trained in belaying, figured out how to stop the rope after I had already fallen 20 feet when I was about 75 feet into a climb.

1998: Some dude tried the carjack me at gunpoint.

2007: 100-year-old oak tree caught a stiff gust of wind and fell on the roof of my parked car with me inside.

2020: Almost-Cat 3 Hurricane Sally took a sharp right turn at the last minute and my family was not able to evacuate. We were in the eye wall for eight hours total.

Had a knife and gun held up to me, so uhhh mortal terror I guess. Surviving felt really good though. The fear of dying then the joy of surviving kinda canceled eachother out.

I have vacationed in isolated cabins the NC mountains most of my life. One year the entire trip I had the "vibe" something was way off. I had the feeling we were being watched at night or something was wrong; a very unsafe feeling is best way I can put it. The feeling was so bad we left a few days early and is not something I would ever do as the place was prepaid for the entire week.

My mom always instilled in me to "listen to that small voice"...
That advice as never failed me.

I now always carry when in the woods on vacation. You just never know when something or someone is in the woods with you.

Re: Most terrified you have ever been?
I was 8 years old.

My 40 year old abusive dad was beating his 20 year old second wife who LOVED to argue.

I heard him smacking her around in the back bedroom, and then heard her go ballistic.

Next thing I heard was a sickening sound like a watermelon being dropped two stories onto concrete...and then complete silence.

I was certain he had killed her.

He then came out of the back room, grabbed me, and then left the home in a hurry.

To say I was terrified is a gross understatement.

She lived, and they divorced.

robbed at gun point in humboldt park chicago.

guys stuck a gun at my hip and told me to get on the ground.

so I dropped to my knees.

then the guy points the gun at my heart and says “you want to get shot? get on the ground.”

I was like “im on the ground!”

“get on your belly.”

so I got on my belly and thought I might get executed right then and there.

Yes, we felt we were being watch as well. The cabin had lots of windows. The trees creaked constantly in the wind. I would sit on the porch and listen to them speak to one another. The neighbors came over and told us about how they would find rubys and arrow heads on the ridge. This was Black gap for anyone who has been there
