If anyone can be trusted, it is because they choose to be trustworthy. So choose to not lie, cheat, or steal . This has nothing to do with being poor or ugly. Many wealthy people work very hard, and can also be quite humble. Outcasts are many times cast out for a good reason.

I agree with you OP. some of the nicest, best people that I have met in this world have been homeless etc.
God's people do not care about possessions, ego, vanity and getting ahead at all costs (which always involves taking advantage of others).
We are the salt of the Earth and the "Elite" of this Earth are so successful in this life because they have sold their soul to the dark side.

They have their reward. This life.

We will have ours. Eternal life as Kings and Queens, Brothers and Sisters, we are whole and all of us together make ONE and are connected to the ONE.

Nice post! I don't know about the ugly part though as I see the beautiful spirit that inhabits these so called "outcasts". It shines from within and makes them beautiful outside and in to me.

To me, that is a dangerously romantic view, I've lived among these kinds of people, and they vary in their trustworthiness as much the rest of the population.

Personally, I'd rather live among Catholics, if I had to choose a group and if they lived all together somewhere, they have a strong moral code.

However, being an "outcast" is rather presumptuous, an attitude of the middle classes looking through their myopic glass house. Being "ugly" is kind of ridiculous, again a materialistic assumption that one is ugly if not dressed right, groomed right, and so on. Basically, strip all that stuff off and we all have an equal endowment to beauty...

For the people trying to argue.....discernment is the answer. If you learn how, you can watch people, listen to them and look into their eyes and discern who they truly are inside.

You are right in most of what you say, but not about poor people and their habits, eating is sometimes a need, not all poor people have bad habit, they just will not do the things they find against their honor, they would rather be poor, not taking a dime from anyone. It is really poor it is they don't have a lot of extra money and don't want as much as some others.

There are bad in all groups but the only one that can hurt more people with their action over a long period of time is
rich people or in the halls of power!

I know rich people you sure would not know it by their actions. They live very simply and down to earth, but they are multimillionaires.

There are good and bad in all walks of life, those you have to watch out for. Looks has nothing to do with character.

Many, not all, of those people with bad habits have those habits for a reason...and many of them wouldn't hurt a fly.
I'd rather be stuck in a cave w/ a drunk Johnny Cash over a politician any day.

Are you one or more of these? Maybe you're nice and trustworthy along with the others like this in your area, but I will in no way trust a majority of the extreme poor and the homeless. In my experiences...these people are like this from the choices they've made along the way. Are all of them like this? No...but just one example of trusting poor homeless strangers is Elizabeth Smart's father bringing in a homeless man to work on the family home's roof. He kidnapped Elizabeth and him AND his wife raped, tortured and mind f'ed her just because her father wanted to be the good samaritan. Talking to is one thing...but I'll never subject my family or myself to the possibility of people smiling in my face while figuring out what I may have that they want. I have poor meth heads next door to me that I wouldn't even turn loose on people I don't like. Just sayin...be careful AND make sure those that you believe to be trustworthy and "safe" actually are. And find those things out before you're inviting them into your home. Also...no...I'm not some rich guy worrying about someone making off with my Van Gogh.
