A camera specialist I know says that is camera and shadowing... from the angle of the camera...and the lighting.

That is not something we would put out at this time... if could have effects we don't want.. this needs to go the way of how it goes as to public exposure. We have crews at risk and making an open statement would bring harm plus the dark shits could modify their plans....

as to the dam the seepage on the front of the dam is worse and "pooling" so to speak. Not a good sign.

I drove over the river early this morning on the Table Mtn. Blvd. bridge just downstream of the fish barrier dam.

There is a LOT of water coming over that dam and entering the main river channel through Oroville.

Since the Thermalito Afterbay is nearly full, I assume most of the nearly 10,000 CFS outflow from the Hyatt PP is going straight downstream into the river directly.

Something is up. WTF are they not telling us?

BTW, ZERO response so far from Butte County Sheriff Honea to my inquiry.

For me, this a source I will scratch from my list. I inquire, you don't respond (as a public figure), you're gone.

IMHO, Sheriff Honea has gone down the Juan Hole.

My guess is the onslaught of earthquakes and predictions of more has scared them enough to lower the lake as fast as they can.

Looks like they may be bringing down the Oregon dams fast too. hmmmmm Seems like some drama in the video but they get into Oregon reducing the dam levels partway through. What isn't shown or talked about is the "actual" size of the reservoirs (acreage) etc so it's hard to know how "fast", or not they are going down. Worthy of further investigation though.

Dear Assistant Director Mellon,

As a resident living below the Oroville Dam in the 'inundation area', I have a few questions.

In the DWR press briefing a couple of months ago, it was stated that the reservoir was going to be operated at full capacity throughout the summer. At the time of this statement, the reservoir was less than 5 feet from full capacity elevation.

The statement was made that keeping the reservoir at 900' elevation was of no concern, and that it had been done in the past.

Why is it then, that the reservoir elevation seems to be intentionally being dropped via large releases from the Hyatt Power Plant over the last few weeks as fast as possible? This is contradictory to previous DWR statements.

Why is there ongoing work being performed on the gate structure, when we (the public) were informed there was no work needed on the gate structure and that no work was going to be performed? Much photographic evidence of this work has been posted online.

Why is DWR claiming that gate leakage is 'normal', but the current leakage is far beyond the leakage in past years?

Why was there no gate leakage immediately prior to the DWR drone video of the first opening of the new spillway back in April of this year?

Was it because of the temporary supports that had been installed to square up the gate structure prior to the video (photographic evidence of this as well ) ?

Those of us living downstream from the Oroville Dam have the right to open communication and answers. Hopefully, you can provide them. I have personally experienced the crises caused by this dam in 1986, 1997 and 2017.

I may have skipped a couple days of checking the cams on the upper and lower spillway and don't see it mentioned here. but there are 4 new stairways going up on the upper spillway.

They lie. If you do get a response, it will be lies.

Too many leaks on spillway and wet spots to think the dam is in good shape. You would think with the type ground penetrating radar the government has you would think they could give the dam a check up to see what's going underneath it. If you can use the ground penetrating radar on Mars you could at least use on the most distressed, largest dam in the USA but everything else is so much more important to those in Washington.

well fast is awfully slow if they can't risk the spillway. Tad more water running down it right now.. shows across the top view.

Exactly the dilemma. They want to drop the elevation as fast as possible (and can't use the spillway).

So they are running max capacity through the PP using whatever turbines are operational.

A slow release, to be sure. But what is the actual issue they are concerned about? We need to know.
