Oroville Dam's Recently Reconstructed Main Spillway Fundamentally Flawed And only 22.70 inches of rain for the season. Depending on where you look we are either 10 inches below average for the season or 20+ inches below. Either way, below average rainfall by the numbers, so far. I understand some places got 300% of average accumulation within a few days. Oroville did not. 2/3rds of seasonal rainfall in two weeks is a big event. But you can never be wrong. Imagine thinking that rainfall is evenly distributed throughout an entire season. Especially in an area with a wet season and a dry season. 2/3rds of annual rainfall in two weeks is normal here. The rainy season is short. There have been years that we received 3/4 of the annual rainfall in the month of March alone. Again, no major flooding in Butte County. No mass evacuations. Normal rainfall so far. No excess reservoir releases. Normal suspect roads are flooded and closed. Happens every year. So far, a nothingburger. I've been married so long, I don't even look both ways when I cross the street. |

Oroville Dam's Recently Reconstructed Main Spillway Fundamentally Flawed You are right about everything and it is never your fault. Local declarations of emergency are meaningless compared to your wisdom. Not wisdom. Experience. There is a difference. Conditions here are nothing like they were in 1986 or 1997. That may change, time will tell. You set the standard as a declaration of emergency, not me. Now it isn't good enough. Definition of wisdom: Wisdom, sapience, or sagacity is the ability to contemplate and act productively using knowledge, experience, understanding, common sense and insight. But you're right about everything so I shouldn't even be questioning your lack of logic or feeble grasp of the English language. Incorrect. I set the standard as major flooding and mass evacuations. It hasn't happened here. Prove me wrong. Or STFU. I've been married so long, I don't even look both ways when I cross the street. |

It is normally distributed through the months of November up to sometimes May. This storm has smashed monthly rainfall totals. By "seasonal average", one can safely assume we mean the wet season. Literally the only difference is that the governor declared the state of emergency for the counties you list while the board of supervisors declared an emergency for Butte. The logical conclusion is that you think Newscum is smarter than a local BOS. Face it dude, you didn't know there was a state of emergency in Butte and you again look like an uninformed jackass trying to defend an untenable position. You are soooooo full of shit. Some of those roads get closed every year but many on that list rarely, if ever, are closed in winter due to storms. You even list Humboldt road down in Chico, which is not closed for anything related to a storm. You can't even review your own information? Isn't it time to take the foot out of your mouth? Sure, many are seasonal closures. Which means they happen every year. Others are closed due to flooding, which HAPPENS EVERY YEAR. Again, the road closures in Butte County currently are normal for this area during this time of year. The rainfall is normal for this time of year. There is no major flooding or mass evacuations going on currently. Rainfall is below seasonal average. There is no doom here currently. Polly want a cracker! Polly want a cracker! Some of those roads close every year even with little rainfall but some of them rarely, if ever, are closed during storms. Butte is in a state of emergency. You lose. You must like the taste of your foot. |

U MUST KNOW THE RECORD Between Feb 13 to Feb 14 2019 Lake Oroville rose close to 9.5 feet Feb 13 it started at 741.97 then on Feb 14 it was 751.40 YES! THANK YOU. SOMEONE COMES ACROSS WITH THE RECORD. I SAY IT IS ALL BAD FOR THAT MUCH WEIGHT AND PRESSURE TO GO AGAINST IT AND THE INTERNAL 'SEEPAGE' THAT MUST BE GOING ON AND THE AREAS WHERE THERE USED TO BE WATER INSIDE BUT..DRAINED OUT DURING THE DROUGHT AND LOW 600 LEVELS...IT IS A BRITTLE DAM. JUST UH GONNA BREACH.. THEY NEED TO DUMP ASAP AS MUCH AS THEY CAN. IT IS NOT FIT FOR ANYTHING NEAR 800 FEET. DOOM BITCHES. ACCEPT IT |

Oroville Dam's Recently Reconstructed Main Spillway Fundamentally Flawed I wonder what the elevation gains were in 1986 and 1997 when the inflow was well over 150K CFS. Im sure it is out there somewhere. Busy now, will look later. I've been married so long, I don't even look both ways when I cross the street. |
