Quoting: right_foot For health reasons, I think we should all drink some bourbon tonight! I think so too. Luck and blessing go hand in hand :) Blessed are the lucky. I'm definitely gonna pour a bourbon tonight. I asked the cardiologist who done my life saving procedures if I should quit drinking bourbon and he said. "GOOD GOD WHY? It saved your life. You wouldnt be here today if you didn't drink!!!" Lol. Sound advice doc. I rarely drink alcohol. And when I do, it's beer. My cardio vascular system is free of plaques. The daily whiskey gave you this condition in the first place, because drinking alcohol flushes out important nutrients and minerals like vitamin K2, Kalium and Magnesium. |

Quoting: WaitTressSandwhich Honestly i didn't lead that bad of a lifestyle. I worked all the time. Manual labor jobs. I'd dig ditches, mow ur properties... etc. Grew 60% of my own food in a garden. Hunted my own game. Ate very little processed foods... What can u change when ur doing that? What was causing the blockage then? Is it like they say....mainly in your genes?? Oh yes definitely. Many deaths in their 40's from heart issues going back 100's of years on BOTH sides. I was screwed genetically. Even of my people live to be "old" - it's their hearts that get em in the end. Genetics loads the gun. Lifestyle pulls the trigger. |

I went to the ER. Quoting: Dr. Acula After tests... doctors determined I had a moderate heart attack. So docs sent me to the cath lab and they looked inside my heart. Turns out I had: 100% Blockage (which was old) 90% blockage 70% Blockage And FIVE 40% blockages. After a couple of caths to implant stents I was gave the all clear and released. The old 100% blockage had bypassed it's self. Which is rare to happen! Turns out I had at least 5 heart attacks before this one. The kicker I didn't have any heart damage. So not only did I survive a 100% blockage... rare! But walked around with it for a year. I had no damage to my heart. I thank Jesus and Bourbon for that. My daily cup of bourbon thinned my blood enough that I didnt die. I was 31 at the time of the last heart attack and weighed 190 pounds... and I was very active. In case your wondering. I walked 15,000 steps a day on average. This can happen to you at any age. Any fitness level. I've seen many cardiologist since and got all kinds of different opinions and they all agree. They don't know HOW I am alive.... much less have no damage to my heart. God and Bourbon. God and Bourbon. Keep kickin it you beautiful monster. |

(OP) Senior Forum Moderator 05/12/2018 11:20 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Holy shit dude. God bless you and I’m so happy you are alive. Quoting: AmericanSpyglass I’m 27 and this scares the shit out of me. I’m a father to a little girl and holy shit if I were to die tomorrow, nothing would be ok. I’m an avid scotch drinker and I walk 15,000 steps a day too... eerily similar lifestyle, save for the manual labor. I walk a sales floor all day and construction sites. My diet is not homegrown. Lots of Non-organic foods (they cost too much). Tons of Romaine lettuce ceasar salads, basically a high fat high carb diet. I drink chlorophyll and try to eat veggies when I can. I’m 5’11 and 175lbs. Not obese. What were some of the warning signs? What did the pain feel like? I have chest pains regularly, and it hurts when I breathe in, almost like I can’t. PM me if you have to. Thanks man. God bless. First off... don't live in fear. Live in awareness. But don't be scared. After my heart attack I struggled with that. But I learned to just live life. My heart attacks felt like a pressure on my left side and burning pain in the middle of my best bone in my chest straight through to my back. My right arm hurt as well. The day of my last heart attack I was in the shower and when I reached up to shampoo my hair. I hurt in a similar fashion. In the moment I knew something was off and I would be in the ER that night. Hell I even washed extra good to prepare for it. But The night before I could sense it. I even told my wife that I wouldn't be alive much longer. There are so many things that can cause chest pain though. Muscles. Bones. Your stomach. Even your lungs. If you are real concerned establish a good doctor. Ask them if taking an aspirin a day is good for you. I never really had any warning signs other than the heart attacks themselves though. _______________________ |

Cholesterol was always high too. My Cardiologist was concerned that my doctor (whom I rarely visited) didn't put me on any meds prior. I didn't get full check ups often so I cant say what my levels were. But I recall my cholesterol was like 750 one time. I have a new doctor that monitors me every three months. He says I'm text book on all my vitals and blood work. Have had many nurses and doctors tell me you couldn't tell I ever had a heart attack judging from my stats. I take lipitor for cholestrol. He was way more into fixing the issue through proper nutrition rather than medicine. Unfortunately, it's not there anymore. I don't recall ever him having a patient with that high number. That's nuts. It's [link to www.wheatbellyblog.com] now. I prefer hear scan blog because it's mainly about learning how nutrition affects your cholesterol through cholesterol blood test that he did on his patients and shows how much better after fixing their diet. He did mention that a condition familial hypercholesterolemia, maybe same as yours, is rather difficult to deal with. Be careful with lipotor because it leads to another problem.
