When I read some of the responses and prayers, I too am bought to tears wholly through the goodness of you people..which is the power of the Lord working through you all. Bravo GLP!

Louis, I add my own prayers and ask that Ella (Mrs Louis) is healed with the skill and expertise of the surgeons, doctors and nurses attending her. I ask that her surgery is a great success in the name of our saviour Jesus. Amen

About to hit the sack, here, Louis, and will say more prayers for Ella, you and her physicians. Also, I will include the critters who miss their mom.

One thing about open heart surgery and any surgery regarding the heart or arteries: people often experience depression after and nobody knows why. Just a heads up so you know it's completely normal. It's also not uncommon that for a couple of days post surgery they can be batshit crazy and mean, lol! My sweet mom who had surgery for an aortic aneurysm called the nurse a bitch and accused her of stealing her black cocktail dress, haha! Nurse just rolled her eyes and told us it happens and no sweat. It's strange and I think it might be a metaphysical thing in that our heart is more than a muscle that pumps our blood. It really is connected to something beyond and why we associate it with our nature (a good heart, sweetheart, etc). When it gets tinkered with, it throws us off. So, in case that happens, you'll be forewarned and prepared. Like the problems getting fixed, it too shall pass.

Hang on Louis, better days are ahead. Praying for you Mrs Louis, Godspeed on the recovery. My mother had valve surgery to repair a leaky valve a few years back, she recovered well and i know you will too.

I thought i was having a bad week with a tooth infection... just needed some perspective. Antibiotics aren't working fast enough...

'Still waiting here for her to be taken for the catheterization. Delays are a normal part of scheduling in hospitals. she is the second surgery the heart surgeon will be performing today he's doing one now so I suspect when she's done with her catheterization she will soon be to the surgical suite.

please pardon any typos here I'm doing this on my phone kind of hard on a tiny screen and I've got the laptops and tablet put up since we'll be shortly leaving this room.

yes this definitely changes the perspective of many things my need for a hip replacement pales in comparison to this and I can go around limping awhile longer not a problem there!

I must admit I did cheat though I went and bought a vape that fits in my pocket yesterday so I'm kind of able to cheat and don't have to run out and kill the battery in the truck again actually smoking. it looks like that actually will be a very effective way to quit smoking for me.

Well she's had a percocet and an IV Dilaudid so she's chillin like a villain, all prepped and scrubbed, and ready to roll down to surgery we'll be coming back to a different room in the ICU so we'll be moving in hospital, I just don't know where to yet.

Doesn’t matter where... :) she has you. And you both have a bunch of folks that care about you and are keeping you in thier hearts.

Go back to the old room to sleep if the surgery is going to be more than four hours.

You and your wife are in my thoughts and prayers. Hang in there, Louis ! All of GLP has your back !

We'll be in this room at least another day with the change of the added MRI; they've brought our stuff back to this room so I'll get the Surface recharged to stay online, myself 'recharged' so I may be here for her, she can wake up again, and hopefully have a meal at dinnertime. Her blood tests still show an iron deficiency so she be on an IV infusion of it.


This thread has for me proved the efficacy of the 'GLP Effect'.

Thank you Blue Fairy. We'll soon enough know what comes next after the catheterization (they run a probe up an artery from her leg into her heart while watching a motion X-ray). I had a lever biopsy here about fifteen years ago and it was an eerie Star-Trek like medical medical experience for me: laying in a human-shaped cavity on a table while my organs and entire innards were in color moving (I could see my beating heart!) on a life-sized plasma screen monitor beside me just like in their sick bay. And that was fifteen years ago; how the technology must have progress in the years since.


Delays, delays--but I do not believe prayer has a 'shelf life'.
