Gosh, Louis, this is the first I've seen this thread. So sorry Mrs Louis is going through this very serious stuff and glad to hear the positive outcome on the clot. I will say a prayer for her full recovery and for your peace of mind, right now.

I swear I thought someone had stitched yarn into one of their limbs for some avante-garde art project the first time I saw it.


Indeed, I was prepared, I told the nurse where I went and my cell phone number is on file and at their desk--the vascular surgeon called me from the OR as soon as he was done and the staff was dressing her surgical wounds.

A former president of the AMA restored my vision there after I inadvertently blinded myself with oven cleaner--it burns holes clear through your eyes--ouch!! I need a hip replacement from the vehicle accident a few years ago when a driver t-boned my car and as this hospital is one of the top ten for joint replacement in the country I'll have it done here, not at the public hospital at VCU / Medical College of Virginia.

This is a great hospital with private rooms and state of the art technology and care and since I didn't have dinner in my rush to see her I stopped by the cafeteria after dinner hours and they grilled me a burger with onions, cheese, and a side of fries while she was in surgery. The nurse showed me where the kitchenette was near their station and said help myself to whatever food, drinks or coffee they have.

I will drive slowly. The insane 80 MPH drive was to the hospital earlier today when Mrs. Louis called me screaming that her leg felt as if it were being torn apart.

I plan on keeping us as healthy as possible with their help and the help of the ultimate healer.

Prayers sent for a complete recovery.

Nice that the group seems to have tapped into something extraordinary and came through for you Louis. Amazing. My guess is that you have lived a good life and had a blessing coming your way anyway.

Well I'm back at the hospital having found the house intact, cats, and opossum are alive too and I got the closest parking space here--ten feet from the ER entrance beside a Sheriff's deputy SUV.

The nurse just gave Mrs. Louis another dilaudid and I fetched her a lemon Italian Ice from the kitchenette before it took effect.

She had an air line down her throat twice today so the ice treat helped with the soreness.

Again all, thank you for your prayers; we're a good lot and at our best when we help each other.

So glad to hear it went well...last few weeks seems like everyone we know is getting ill...spent three hours at good Friday praying for all on our list.

Louis, and Mrs. Louis, you are in my prayers, joining all the others here, for healing and comfort / grace / peace, the peace that passes understanding from our Lord Jesus, and Father in heaven.

Good morning everyone and thank you to all whom added their prayers and well wishes.

Her leg is doing well, however her hemoglobin level continues to fall; she has had five bags of blood administered and is getting hooked up to her sixth.

She'll be here at least a few more days. One doctor (I forget the specialty) wants to remove a portion of her blood, add a dye, then return it so they can scan for where she is losing blood. She still has a ways to go.

Wow, Louis. Prayers will continue.

Sounds like a good idea to do the dye. There's a perforation there somewhere.

Just know that you are both loved and the Father has you in the palm of His hand.

~KPM~ she has had two uppers but is not passing blood so no need for the lower yet. They will be doing that blood dye / leakage test to determine where the blood loss is occurring.

So far she is under the care of six specialist doctors and a nurse practitioner in one of the top fifty hospitals (or top ten, depending on the area of practice) in the US. I foresee another $500,000 hospital charge from here when this is done.

No bacon for her yet. She ordered eggs, juice, and toast for breakfast and I ordered eggs, sausage, and potatoes.

She's chilling on pain meds ATM so I'm outside in the truck having a smoke.

We had a this morning when the doctor from India who specializes in whatever the field is called that deals with the present blood loss issue said "Why are you so brown--you look like me?!" She has a tanning membership, she really is darker than that physician.

Hopefully the dye will find it

I went through the same thing a few years ago, they never found out why after a week in the hospital and numerous tests

Didn’t have a clot though, just mysterious blood loss they couldn’t find

They sent me home and said I had IBS, changed my whole diet trying to only eat organic and they started me on Align probiotics and they issues went away
