Look at the 2016 election map again--if you ever bothered to look in the first place. The Clinton supporting areas will, very clearly, be the places that will become hell on earth within a day or two of the lights going out. For me and mine and all the Trump fans near me it will not be any great problem--for a few months anyway. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 77193548 United States 11/19/2019 12:28 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | In the Great Depression, most people lost their land and their homes due to not paying taxes or bank payments. Even though the banks were closed, and you couldn't make a payment even if you had the money, they still foreclosed on property. That is how the banksters, including the Rothschild led Federal Reserve Bank, came to own much of America. When the depression was over, the banks had all the property and the working people had nothing. It was the perfect setup for the globalist banksters to start another "Great War". Most American males needed a job, and being killed in the war meant their families would get the government insurance check. That is where the expression "bought the farm" comes from. When a man was killed in action, the insurance payment was just enough to pay off a small farm. Quoting: Epic Beard Guy is there any history books relating to this you have read? Even I, a life long liberal, knows that's bullshit. It'll be the inner cities, which overwhelmingly vote Democrat, that are the first to go ape. Rural ares which are more Republican will avoid at least the initial anarchy the cities see. |

Hawaii does have very poor soil (mostly volcanic) for growing non-native produce. It is rated a ZERO (0) by Joel Skousen, who wrote "Strategic Relocation". As soon as the SHTF, you have millions of people trapped on islands with NO supplies coming in. Many of these people HATE "Haoles" (ethnic non-Hawaiians), and would see this as an opportunity to "retake" their homeland. If you want to try to survive in Alaska, you had better have a LOT of cash. Not only is everything super expensive, you have to factor THAT in, when you go to buy that 6 months (or a year) worth of supplies, which costs a fortune. |

Walmarts and other fast "food" places can also be factors in determining a shithole. I was working on a formula a while back that included population density, dollar store density, fast"food" density, church density, certain demographics, etc. A little more work and it couldda been done. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 78109820 Seems to think that after society collapses, then you should be somewhere that does not have a high cost of living, high taxes and regulation? That won't be an issue if society is collapsed. Neither will traffic. Claims that Alaska "planes and ships will likely no longer be making shipments, greatly limiting available resources". DUH? Obviously the authors weren't talking about a collapse, but something else. No kidding. I always get a kick out of these prepper articles that assume, in a societal collapse scenario, society will continue somehow. If the power is out or the Chinese invade, there won't be any tax collector sending you a bill every year, the EPA will be the last of your concerns, and your rent payment just went to zero. I've even seen someone give prep advice to be debt free. What good is that going to do you when there are no credit card companies left to collect? In the Great Depression, most people lost their land and their homes due to not paying taxes or bank payments. Even though the banks were closed, and you couldn't make a payment even if you had the money, they still foreclosed on property. I'd like to be in West Virginia, in a Coal Mining town, where we can escape deep underground. Riding the elevator down, down, down, down. Deep into the coal mine. Down there, they have generators, and equipment, and miles, and miles, of tunnels. And once down there, nobody else is coming down. Now, I'm not suggesting staying underground for a long time is a great idea, unless it has been pre-prepped for just such a situation, which maybe some mines are? Who knows? But you are not getting an invite to a coal mine unless you got miners as friends. It is said (how would I know) that in some of these old mines, there are significant resources stockpiled, and even massive grow rooms with high intensity lights to grow....tomatoes. And the tunnels connect to other mines, and exit shafts, and who knows what else is going on down there. All this, underneath mountains of rock above. At the very least, it might be a good place to ride out a nuclear attack, or an EMP/Solar Flare...or just a quick Civil War. Well....this is all just speculation. Right? Marlin! |
