Why am i getting shunned like a Leper on this Thread? is my hurt and Pain not meet the expectations/criteria, to enjoy a Happy Xmas?
Is my past that hard to forgive that no matter how hard i try to better myself, i will always be Judged by it?

If won't can help, I have a 13 year old son that can use some new clothes. We recently had a death in the family so there have been no funds to contribute to the holidays due to the unforeseen expenses.

Not at all friend I am sorry you feel as though you aren’t loved. I spend a lot of time alone my wife’s not around much and so incan understand the sentiment. I also have a rough past but you cannot let it define you, and no you will not be constantly judged due to it. Sometimes God gives us trials to sharpen us because he knows you are a soul in search of Him. Praying for you my friend.

No need for that my dear friend, but it is a very kind idea.

Besides, I am not alone in this. I may be doing all the posting and such, but without the help the beautiful people who contributed, I think we would not have been able to light up Christmas for those in need as much as we did this year. I can not express that enough.

And to be honest, I believe far the most of the help went to anonymous people and not members. If I would have to guess, from around 50 families we were able to bring a smile this year, I believe around 35 requested through email and the rest through posting in this thread.

This thread really demonstrates what an amazing community GLP can truly be. I've only been a 'paid' member on GLP for a few months, but I must say the Private Message (PM) feature available to the 'paid' members is by far one of the greatest benefits to membership. I have met (and continue to meet) really cool people because of the PM system.

That said, I would also like to suggest that for those of us in the USA that we can all do a little something to help the very needy by dropping a few bucks in the Salvation Army Red Kettle this time of year. I'm not sure if the Salvation Army is active globally with their annual Christmas Red Kettle Campaign, but this time of year, we see and hear them clanging their bell, in front of grocery stores, and Big Box stores, and just about anywhere where there is lots of foot traffic and people have a few bucks of cash on them.

I've done a little bit of research into the Salvation Army, and I was a non-profit executive at one time myself, and I can say that the Salvation Army probably uses their funds the most wisely and is thrifty with their funds. The Salvation Army helps so many people who are on the bottom of the totem-pole in society. To be homeless, and have addiction issues, and/or mental health issues...this time of year? This time of year Christmas, is supposed to be so cheerful, but sadly it is more often than not simply depressing. We do need to remember that giving (if we can) is so much greater than receiving.

I know I feel better when I throw a few bucks into a Red Kettle. I know that money will be well spent. I'm also open to giving a random stranger who is asking for money a few bucks if my Spirit directs me to do so. I'll even give a person a ride if I am so moved. We really must help each-other when we can, and not stand back and video our world like it is a movie that we are somehow watching. We are in a strange way in a movie (call it the Matrix) and we are the stars in our own play. We all have staring roles. The question is, what are you going to do with your time on the stage?

What a beautiful and thoughtful, and prayer full, thread. I would but I did just recently and I am not a rich man. BBQBoys sons plight reminded me of own son and what would I do. But it is beautiful to the see the Spirit of Giving live in action. God Bless you all in your transactions.

At the moment I believe we have covered everyone that put in a request, but we are also at the end of and a bit over the budget for this year. But all good.

I think the easiest and fastest way to help anyone if you don't have PayPal is probably an Amazon Gift Card. It is easy to set up an account on both ends if you don't have that. All it takes after that is email contact about the help.

I also hear people from the States mention CashApp, but I have no experience with that and the verification time that takes for first time users.
