Quoting: Anonymous Coward 78266136 Pinatubo is not south of Taal, but north of it. Infact, Manila is north of the Taal Volcanoe and Pinatubo is north of Manila. They should learn to look on a map and get their facts straight. It ain't much to ask. fake news with fake money. |

The eruption is believed to have contributed to the accumulation of atmospheric ash together with the catastrophic 1815 eruption of other volcanoes like Indonesia's Mount Tambora, leading to the Year Without a Summer in 1816" That's another volcano in the Phillipines. (MAYON) It says it contributed to a cooling trend! A year without summer! |

Quoting: chickadee 41672184 Better have a look at this... [link to www.theweathernetwork.com (secure)] damn! Fucking fear porn peddler. OP is LARP replying to his own thread. I have been volunteering with the PDRRMO/NDRRMC (local and national disaster response teams) helping to setup their mobile command centers. Mt. Taal is not even close to the destructive power of Mt. Pinatubo that erupted in 1990. When Mt. Pinatubo erupted in 1991, it was rated as a VEI-6 eruption. This is over 10x the destructive power of the VEI-5 eruption of Mt. St. Helens in 1980. Mt. Taal could only produce at most a VEI-3 eruption. It's destructive potential is due to it's proximity to Metro Manila. It's about 30 mi (52 km) south of Metro Manila. Depending upon the wind speed and direction, it's possible to cover much of Metro Manila with volcanic ash. You no nothing, I think your mom is calling to you in your basement that your lunch is ready. |

The ash and fall out pictures already look devastating for thousands of people. This volcano has spewed in the past for MONTHS - if it repeats that super or not - its gonna make a big fucking impact. Stop filling up this thread with its not big deal posts and bugger off. |

It had erupted hundreds of years ago with a force of VE6. Big boulders even reached Manila. Am just parroting my UR-LOLA who was a survivor. Quoting: Swissy 78118140 Thousands had died. [link to www.volcanocafe.org (secure)] This clearly says it can produce vei 6 eruption |
