It won't. Focus it until it's in a place to do the most good. Eventually, the sharp edges wear down. I don't feel much anymore, except sadness.
 Quoting: Texan Buckeye

Oh, TB, that makes me so sad. Lifting you up in prayer, friend. hf
 Quoting: Serenity Now

It goes in spurts. I try to stay really busy, so I don't have time to remember right now. We've lost 3 parents in 3 years. That doesn't count all the extended family and friends...before Covid. It's just that time of life, I guess. We're lucky we had them all for as long as we did. My grandparents didn't have their parents. They passed before we were born. My mom barely remembered her own grandparents. My dad was a little luckier. His grandmother passed when I was in high school.

Anyway, thanks hon. I really appreciate it. I'm a bit bah humbuggy today. No sun today and it doesn't feel the least like Christmas. The give away thread was fun, but it's over. Is it January yet? I'm ready. I'm going to hibernate.
 Quoting: Texan Buckeye

I haven't "celebrated" Christmas since 1998. My little girl was 5. We never had another Christmas. I hate this time of year with the heat of a thousand suns. And even to this day I can't watch a movie or a TV show involving a man and his daughter without ending up in a fetal position. Some days I can control it better than others, but it never really goes away.

So I get it. When it cuts that deep, feeling nothing is better. You be as humbuggy as you want to be. You don't owe anyone the facade of enjoying the holiday.

I wish you the best, TB. Just wanted you to know I really do understand.

Is there something significant I missed? The occasional mutation will happen and the more efficient will overcome. If a virus can bind better that version will become dominant, but such mutations should be more species specific (Better in mink does not imply but could be better in humans, but with equal improvement the mutation would be equally likely in both species, thus not needing a jump to wild mink).

The people hyping that viruses tend to become less serious over time tend to overlook the fact that we are looking at a few months, vs years and that there is the benefit of mass die offs to remove those most vulnerable that we have thus far avoided.

The new 'mutant' strain neutralizes the vaccine. They will have to go to yearly injections, just like the flu injections, to try to suppress the viral shedding process. Mass extermination incoming.

Yeah Boris fucked up bad. He needed a excuse to shutdown before Christmas despite earlier promises, It seems they used this "new" strain (which isn't really new) and the claim that it's more virulent (Contagious, the claim is supported only by case numbers to my knowledge) to do just that. The backlash has been a bit more fierce then I hope they expected, cause they hastened a no-deal Brexit worst case scenario with these shenanigan's.

Let me be clear I am casting doubt on the 70% more virulent claim because it is politically beneficial as a excuse I haven't seen anything to make me think it's actually true though it could be. Even then the amount of speculation is excessive.

Rapid viral shedding is a sign of rapid genetic mutation and evolution of the organism, since its not a 'virus' that mutates, but the organism, itself. The shed viral material is a genetic signature of the organism undergoing cleansing, adaptation, and change.

Sure, many will die as they are unable to complete the evolutionary process - which viral shedding is one component of - but this cannot be stopped. In fact, the attempt to suppress the viral shedding process is what vaccines are designed to do - thus destroying the organism in the process - making successful adaptation and evolution more difficult, at best.

They are going to go into overdrive now and will likely be forced to go to yearly injections against the 'new strains' - just like they do with the flu every year.

Or they may be out of time and other methods of their agenda will now come into implementation.

No, humans aren't hypermutating in a hasty pace. Take your pseudoscience elsewhere. You're saying we should bow out to nature and accept natural selection. I respect that opinion but reject it outright as ignorant and lazy. Go be one with nature in a way that is more "live and let live."

I think that's a bit of a stretch because you'd have to say the group of scientists advising gov are all in on that conspiracy as well. They've said there is very, very strong correlation with the new strain and rapid increase of cases. Rapid increase has coincided with at the exact moment as the new strain has become more dominant.

Not just London/South-east England either. South Wales is seeing the explosion in cases as well at the same time the new strain has become dominant there. Other areas of the UK where the new strain isn't dominant aren't seeing an explosion of cases.

In studies in hamsters infected with D614 or G614 variants, Plante et al. showed that the contemporary G614 variant replicated to higher titers in nasal-wash samples early after infection and outcompeted the ancestral D614 variant (Figure 1C); these findings suggest increased fitness in a major upper airway compartment potentially associated with enhanced transmission. The SARS-CoV-2 G614 variant did not cause more severe disease than the ancestral strain in hamsters, a finding that supports current findings in humans.

-Nods- I agree with all you are saying, that said we found the said variant in The Netherlands as well and have seen a similar increase in cases. The US has also seen a increase in cases following thanksgiving. Temperatures are colder in all three locations. I'm hard pressed to put it all down to a new mutation that is X% more virulent. I'm sure there is substance to the claim but it's being overhyped and oversold.

Let me be clear I am casting doubt on the 70% more virulent claim because it is politically beneficial as a excuse I haven't seen anything to make me think it's actually true though it could be. Even then the amount of speculation is excessive.

My first question is 70% of “what”? No one knows jack about this virus. At best maybe educated guesses.

I agree about the politics.

It won't. Focus it until it's in a place to do the most good. Eventually, the sharp edges wear down. I don't feel much anymore, except sadness.

Oh, TB, that makes me so sad. Lifting you up in prayer, friend. hf

Nightmare Like Scenario of Covid 2020 started in our household the night of

December 21st 2006, I will never be the same, NOR Christmas.
He is still here with us, but that is a long time of suffering.
No reason to discuss how many nights and days within the compounds of a hospital
or for that matter, within the Icu on a ventilator.

I always tell people, give all your thoughts to my son.
We all have lost in this household, but he by far lost the most.
I do not need sympathy nor help, nor have we ever asked for or received any.
relying on help, softens you and there is only one mindset to have when in my position.
My duty to stay strong.

Children who suffer, never get the full experience.
and that is the worst thought.
after knowing this, adults that have lived their life,
however it may have been.
they were blessed many folds.

this is not directed at anyone who has family members suffering or has lost loved ones mentioned here.
just giving a glimpse of perspectives. no harm no foul

I do believe most of us are being conditioned for the REAL rough times ahead.
and so many things make sense, if you know what really lies ahead.
one thing I will never forget, I have been told to be prepared, but also have patience.

And to tell the truth this year has only recharged me for whatever reason.
This by far was the least stressful year for the past 15 years.
but I agree, time to put this year in the bag and throw it out.

Faith, Strength and Patience has been been our foundation in the household.
