Quoting: The Deplorable Jolly Roger The dealer said that this was in the normal operating range!!!!! There is a thermostatic valve in the cooler lines. Looks like a block of aluminum. The valve is in bypass until around 180f to allow the transmission to warm up, then it usually operates 190-210, same as engine temp. These valves are known to stick in bypass which can lead to elevated temps. The valve typically comes with the lines but can be swapped without removing the lines. |

OBD2 says cylinder8 but also started throwing codes for every cylinder. Causing temperature icon to light as engine dies. But engine will start right up and idle perfectly. Only does this under load. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 77457727 Suspecting a coil pack going out causing computer to go nuts. Any other ideas? I have a set of 8 coils coming but would be nice to know of any other possible culprits. I had this same car and the same problem and it was the intake manifold leaking coolant into the spark plug recesses. The coolant shorts the coil to ground and causes an intermittent or sometimes continuous misfire. However, since you are having misfires on all cylinders it's going to be a fuel delivery problem, pump, filter; something |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 78347277 I had someone pressuring me heavy to buy one recently and I’m glad I took a pass. Wiped bearings. Driver usage plays a large role. My driving style and commute would never allow this condition to occur. Someone driving in town with no highway is a lot more likely to have these problems. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 77017255 United States 01/24/2020 08:00 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I'm looking for a good suspension setup for a 1976 Funco SS1 with VW IRS and Link pin front beam, stock width. The shocks have to be 2" body with no coilovers and no bypass shocks for the vintage racing class. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 76813394 Thank you. Almost every picture I've seen of the Funcos have coil overs. The rear on some cars had up to 4 shocks per wheel! That's going to be a tough one. There's quite a few posts about the Funcos over on the Samba. Drag shocks can be very configurable if you're looking for heavy rates in one direction. Do they allow non sealed body shocks? |

My husband thinks its the 3-4 gear clutch pack Could be, but a clutch failure is rarely spontaneous. Usually let's you know with some slipping. A solenoid will flat just quit and you end up missing gears. He'll know when he drops the pan. If the fluid is realitively clean it's a solenoid. If the fluid is burnt with a layer of material it's rebuild time. |

Switch back to off then back to start cranks right up. Everytime first start of the day to the last. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 77568888 Any ideas ? Thanks Next time in the morning try putting the shifter in neutral and see if it starts. Parking brake on and foot on the brake of course. The transmission range sensor allows starting in park and neutral. Sometimes the contacts stick or wear out. If it starts ok in neutral but not park the range switch is going bad. |

Thanks, I'll check out drag shocks. It doesn't say anything about non-sealed body shocks. Is external reservoir the same as bypass shocks?
