"And it's for that reason why the guidelines are being put forth so that the states and the cities can start to reenter and reopen."

Just got off the phone with my cousin, he has lake frontage on Sanford lake. Or had.
He lost it all, said they warned him around 5pm to get out.
Two hours later he had 6 feet of water in his house.
Doesn't know where his boat or dock is.

All he had time to do was grab all his cash and a couple things.
He said there's not even a river, where the lake used to be.

Said he went to Sanford yesterday and the town was pretty much gone.

Said people are pissed, the guy that owned the dam doesn't want to show up. They're all looking to sue.

He said his son called 911 and was taken to a mental health facility in Ann Arbor.

Last Wednesday, he was diagnosed with COVID-19 and said he was supposed to be taken to another facility to be quarantined.

“It should've never happened because he should've never been put in that environment."

This week, Michigan’s Secretary of State, Jocelyn Benson, announced that the state would send absentee ballot applications — not actual absentee ballots — to 7.7 million voters. In response, President Trump threatened to withhold funding from the state.

In an exclusive interview with SiriusXM Patriot’s Breitbart News Tonight, Eggers said ineligible voters could end up receiving mail-in ballots because Detroit’s voter rolls have at least 30,000 more registered voters on them than citizens who are eligible to vote.

In the city of Detroit … according to a lawsuit filed just last year, the city of Detroit itself has over 30,000 more registered voters than citizens of legal voting age,” Eggers continued.

“30,000 people in Detroit at least will receive … an absentee ballot request form,” Eggers said. “Well Donald Trump only won Michigan by less than 11,000 votes in 2016. So this is a state that if it flips … the margins are very small here.”

VA Secretary Robert Wilkie, in a letter and documents provided to Senate Minority Leader Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.), said the department had prescribed hydroxychloroquine to about 1,300 coronavirus patients of more than 10,000 veterans treated for the coronavirus "and will continue to do so in accordance with Food and Drug Administration (FDA) guidelines."

In addition to treating approximately 1,300 veterans with hydroxychloroquine for the coronavirus, the VA has also prescribed the medication to approximately 7,500 for non–COVID-19 conditions since the start of the pandemic.

Wilkie told Schumer that the VA is also planning studies into the effectiveness of hydroxychloroquine, an anti-malaria medication touted by President Trump.

Wilkie, in documents provided to Schumer, said neither he nor anyone else at the VA had been pressured by the White House to prescribe the medication.

"The idea that VA health care providers would make treatment decisions based on anything other than the best medical interests of our patients as individuals is preposterous," he added. “

Well the beach and boardwalk were hopping today with big crowds despite Emperor Whitless’s decree to continue to keep the state park closed basically denying the handicapped any access to even views of the water

With all the people in town it is unfortunate that the downtown stores were barren, like a ghost town, right in the middle of thousands of people So sad for the business owners

Nessel disputes claim that state litigation played role in Edenville Dam's failure

The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, which regulates hydroelectric dams, revoked the license of the Edenville Dam in September 2018 ....


When FERC revoked its license, it turned regulation of the dam to the state, which requires only that the dam be able to handle half of the maximum storm possible.

State emails indicate the state knew as early as Jan. 31 that the dam failed even to meet state safety standards.

Even with that knowledge, the state granted dam owner Boyce Hydro’s permit request to raise Wixom Lake levels April 9, action the department has argued was required under the court-ordered lake levels and permitting laws.

Boyce Hydro manager Lee Mueller has said the company lowered levels nearly eight feet in the winters of 2018 and 2019 — even after permit applications were denied — because it otherwise could not complete the proper maintenance needed in the winter months to protect both workers and people downstream.

Federal regulators had allowed the decrease, at least temporarily, in 2018 to allow for maintenance on the Secord Dam upstream, but there was no such federal allowance in 2019.

The Attorney General Office's statement on Saturday said the environmental department’s May 1 lawsuit was meant to address “past illegal lowering” in the winters of 2018 and 2019 that resulted in the deaths of freshwater mussels and to avoid future dramatic consequences.

Nessel on Saturday in an interview with The Detroit News also pushed back on suggestions from the Michigan Republican Party that she should recuse her office from an investigation into the dam's failure.

“With these troubling new revelations that the state's lawsuits may have played a role in this tragedy, it is clear that Attorney General Dana Nessel should not lead this investigation,” Michigan Republican Party Chairwoman Laura Cox said in a statement Friday.
