Yea they were out of some things but I did not get the feeling of doom. Could be I live in an area that is not NYC level? Not sure but it was certainly not as bad as I heard from our local d00my news channels. Quoting: IFartInYourDirection There were many people wearing masks and gloves. No one seemed to be "prepper" shopping. Looked like normal every cart contents to me. So idk wtf the point of this thread is. Just seems like there is more doom talk than actual doom. Panic shopping happened two weeks ago. I'm in central Jersey. Every store only allowed 1 24pk of water. Shelves were empty of everything. I went before the panic really started to grab a few things, was a little busy, but still stocked up. 4 days later. Empty shelves. Just went back two days ago, shelves fully stocked. Limit of 4 now on 24pks of water but everything looked fine. Long lines, but nothing crazy |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 78573258 Canada 04/03/2020 11:14 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I went to Walmart yesterday. Quoting: Canada It was definitely a strange shopping visit. A couple people were wearing masks. An employee who was in charge of the shopping carts outside was wearing a mask. They put up a barrier around the front doors and there was an employee sitting there, limiting how many people could go in the Walmart at a time. She was not wearing a mask. I thought that was weird, since she is the one coming into contact with EVERY person. Inside, as I came out of one aisle a Walmart employee (really loud, you know the type, really loud person when they tell you something) said: "Excuse me, the aisles are one way now due to Covid19 to encourage social distancing. We ask that you follow the arrows on the floor." (They put stickers on the floor that had photos of arrows). So weird. The shelves were pretty full. The only sections that were a little bare were the meat and the toilet paper. But there was toilet paper. Only thing was for a moderate size pack, it was $19!!!! They were price gouging! |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 77378410 United States 04/03/2020 01:25 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | My husband and I just returned from Target. Haven’t been shopping for well over a week. There was no toilet paper. They had a few packages of paper towels. I got almost everything on my list but there was still no flour. They did have some sugar though. They had eggs but we bought those at Kwik Trip. At the Kwik Trip my husband picked up his favorite bag milk and when we got home I noticed the sell date was April 3rd (that’s today) so I told him he needs to always look at the date on food. I wanted to buy some cake mix and frosting. Nearly all cleaned out. They had bread but not what we usually buy. They had milk and juice. Nearly cleaned out of frozen vegetables (I wanted a bag of frozen peas to make a pasta dish-none) had more pasta than they did last week but sauces were limited. One guy had a mask on...they were not that busy. I wore gloves for the first time. I ordered a mask and filters today since we will probably have to wear them now. Not going out again unless I have to and I will wear my mask with gloves. We will most likely HAVE to wear masks to go shopping now at the store. |
