Does anyone who was a kid in the late 70's early 80's recall having strange tests performed on them at school?

Seems like it honestly.

I seem to remember the strange bus tests. I remember getting the vaccination in the upper arm (can't remember the name). That was really weird back then. There was lots of weirdness in school in the early 70s. I remember Earth Day and the all the eco indoctrination that is eerily reminiscent to today's climate change. Back then society was fighting smog from industries but today we fight global warming from cows farts.

I just skimmed through that link and found this post. I’m more than a little uncomfortable right now. My ancestors are form Bucks county and I trace back to the early 1700’s My father’s side founded Newtown PA, mother’s side late 1600’s

Listen, I found out what’s going on. You can too. Start doing your genealogy as far back as you can. At one point you will be totally blown away at the person you discover is your ancestor, and all your questions will be answered. You will know for sure why they were doing the culling and the investigating.

This is so weird. I just found this thread and remember those tests. I'm the exact same age as you and also did my genealogy and my 5th great grandfather fought in the Revolution (I'm a DAR member).

As well as some kind of card matching tests and asked to answer a series of increasingly difficult questions . I have vague memory of being asked to perform some kind testing of what now seems like some kind psychological testing. I recall the person performing the tests was not a member of the school faculty. They would take you to a large black bus or tractor trailer that had a large generator and air conditioning in it. I remember it being really cold in there and smelling very sterile.

I'm like you. An INTP personality. I love solving the problem, but once it's solved, I have no interest whatsoever in applying the solution to the real world to produce a real tangible result. I just immediately look for another problem to solve. So I never gain from anything I do.

I was also one of the GIFTED. This was up until 6th/7th grade when I started smoking weed. Took the hearing tests. The bubble answer tests. All kinds of tests. Got the shots. Talking mid 90s here.

Late 80's, very early 90's I remember going through a similar process. Don't remember too much about the details or the tests, but I do remember how proud my parents were that I was "gifted"

Out gifted class was in the school basement. The only thing i remember was being on our knees around a table with palms down on the table, eyes closed. The teacher was having us meditate on transferring sensations from one hand to the other and to feet.

There were maybe 5 or 6 other kids. Had the class once or twice per week for at least a year and no other memories, except that I enjoyed it.
