No ground beef at all. No Pork. Some high-dollar steaks, a fair amount of chicken. Bread is available but it is scarce. Many brands are missing. Dairy is hit and miss. Many brands are low or missing. Bacon is sketchy. Many top brands will be gone one week, back the next. We are prepped, so we are okay, but it is weird seeing huge empty shelves. |

User ID: 76604177 United States 05/25/2020 09:22 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | As for food, I notice it's very sparse at Walmart. Albertson's has a ton of meat, but it's weird meat- bags of chicken with names on it I've never seen. Ground Beef that looks like it was purchased from a vendor that supplies for Prisons or hospitals. Has a very odd label on it. Looks "commercial". My thought is that Walmart buys a lot at the beginning of the month and the stocks lean and has for a while. Higher-income stores will have more food for a while, but even those will be hit as this gets worse. Everything will get so expensive that many of us will no longer be able to buy food as we did in the past. I worry about what will happen once the extra unemployment runs out, and the restaurant and service jobs like mine are gone. I predict that it's gonna get very real by mid-August. Good luck to us all. |

I am starting to buy large amounts of canned protein. Chili with beans, corned beef hash, sliced beef and gravy, etc. All in #10 cans from a restaurant supply company. FedEx is dropping off cases every week. I thought my lovely bride would question the large purchases... instead she wants me to get more. I am thinking winter will be tough on people. |

A few days later, lots of beef but no pork or chicken. The only meat that seems to be always available is high-dollar steak. Bacon is scarce. Bratwurst is scarce. Sausage is hit or miss. I am noticing a change in stock, towards what seems to be restaurant-style packaging... more #10 cans of veggies, for example, that were not there before. More generically packed large-quantity items that I imagine were previously used in food service. This is in middle Tennessee. |
