Its been my experience that very few will go above and beyond to help regular citizens. Most are short tempered, narcissistic and rude. Even off duty cops exhibit an attitude of self grandeur.

If you've never been a victim of crime---it's because of the

presence of law enforcement and it's influence as being

an arm of justice.

Seriously. We have a system but, the problem right now

has to do with the leadership in the states.

Lol buddies and I were heading to Kings island a amusement park in Ohio, my friends tire got busted on the highway so we pulled to the side, a cop comes and stops behind us, we're all thinking he's going to help but instead he accuses us of smelling like weed, he searched the car, doesn't find anything then leaves.

Re: I've never had a cop help me in my life, and now I'm expected to thank one?
Of course you’ve been helped by cops. The relative law and order you have is in part due to cops. That doesn’t mean cops don’t have a downside. Of course you have to protect your life and your property. Cops really don’t do much that, of course sometimes they can stop a crime by investigating suspicious activity. But they definitely do help to keep order.

The biggest problem with cops is that the government has moved them from being peace officers to being tools for the all powerful social welfare state. We have cops intervening with families for domestic situations. We have cops shutting down businesses because a virus is going around. We have cops pulling people over for seatbelt violations. When you have the police intervening in small matters that should be left up to individuals you get what we have today. But that is society’s fault for making the police do what they shouldn’t l

It doesn't help matters that half of these cops are on Benzos. Outlaw that class of drugs, and you'll be seeing a totally different type of cop in no time, including a bunch that die off within 3 weeks from the withdrawal, or survive but are too crippled to be able to do the job anymore.

We're seeing a trend however, and that is that people in small towns trust their local sheriffs, while people in more robust areas have had a completely different negative experience.

Start by outlawing Benzos, and go from there.

The Withdrawal would would make shorter work of them than a bullet.

If you are keeping your nose clean, you won't need help or have run-ins from cops (unless some idjit decides to drive drunk and runs into you or breaks into your home), and you won't have issues with vigilantes.

Floyd: fentanyl and meth passing counterfeit bills
Arbery: trespassing multiple times

If they had kept their noses clean they would still be here.

Re: I've never had a cop help me in my life, and now I'm expected to thank one?
A cop was responding to shootings, stabbings, domestic violence so you could sleep peacefully. A cop responds to burglaries so thousands of pukes aren’t coming in your house at night and you can sleep without having one eye open. The cop keeps the jerk from driving 150 mph past your Prius as you are on your way to drop your daughter off at school. The cop responds to the home of your dead family member to investigate what the hell happened. The cop smells the rotting corpse as he searches for answers and evidence in the event your family member was murdered.
The cop goes after the neighborhood pervert that would have sex with your kid without pushback from anyone. Imagine a world without police and then it’s easier to thank a cop. If you think there are no need for police or they don’t influence your life for the better, then you likely are the one that preys on others and the cop is in your way.

Re: I've never had a cop help me in my life, and now I'm expected to thank one?
I have had cops help me a lot. One of my earliest was when my muffler fell of my car and was being held on by a strap. He cut it off for me.

Later, I married a cop, so I had a lot of positive interactions with them. I divorced had kids, never had a chip on my shoulder, and I am still friends with my ex to this day
Later, I married a school teacher. Cops would also helped me fine my autistic/ ID who ran away several times.

They have taken police reports as needed or given a wealth of information. They also talked to kids at school about not doing drugs and staying in school. Let them participate in the "Explorers" program. A program for students in H.S. to do ride alongs with cops as a career. So, they too work as mentors to kids.

I know everyone has had this experience too , they direct traffic around accidents. Cops are a valuable resource.

Yes, and on occasion I have come across crabby or careless cops. They exist too. They are regular people not perfect beings. Overwhelmingly though they are good people.

Most people don't trust cops it seems.

Probably for good reason.

I'm english, and I've visited the USA many times. I have to say american cops are very rude and aggresive. One of the things all english kids growing up are told "if you're in trouble, ask a policeman for help". Once we were in New York and got lost, so I asked a cop for directions. His reply to me,with my girlfriend by my side, was "buy a fucking map".
 Quoting: raul98

I've only asked a NYC cop for help once. I don't live there, I was just visiting. I'm was actually shocked by how nice he was. I needed a parking lot for a few days and he nicely directed me to one. honestly I was shocked as most big city cops tend to be rude. I probably ran into the only nice NYC cop.

I notice there's not any female cops out there fighting rioters. what happened to equality?

I must confess, I have no love for Cops or any of these badge carrying pricks. Do you know what happens when a grown 200+ lb man in a chinese made uniform and a chinese made badge stands on your head?

Your sinuses pour out onto the floor like a nosebleed. Only someone who had that happen knows.

I've had a few episodes with bad cops however I have had more with the general public dick heads, cops come from our community, they just like most of us, some good some bad, get over it...

This idea that "it could happen" is utter nonsense. It is a scam the state uses as a extortion scheme.

Thank them for what? Being abusive and corrupt?
The People have taken back the power from the police and it will never go back. Police are done with abuse of civilians.
Laws will be passed to protect citizens and laws will be passed to punish cops.
Police are there to serve and protect, if they violate the law they should receive double the punishment of a civilian.
The police in our country have proven themselves over the past 6 days as totally incompetent. The world laughs at us.
Police need to stop abusing the innocent and go back to being Peace officers.
