They arent going to space. They arent innovating. They are failing. And their failures are being celebrated. Pathetic. Let me know when they do something groundbreaking. i know jealousy when i see it and you sir are jealous af |

Im sorry, did the op not contain a recent video of a spacex rocket crashing and exploding? That is not the rocket that launched the crew Dragon nor would it ever launch a Dragon capsule. That was a prototype for pathfinding a new way to reuse rockets. It was not expected to work the first time. Starship is intended to be fully reusable, both the first and second stages. Only a Falcon's first stage is reusable. These are new ways to get into orbit. |

I said I caught the entry burn, not the landing burn. Reading is fundamental. The landing was too far off shore to see that time. I did capture the drone ship landing on an earlier cargo launch to ISS: |

(OP) Senior Forum Moderator 12/16/2020 01:32 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Fantastic video! I assume that it crashed cause it only had one of the three rocket engines working at landing and came in too fast. Quoting: Busterhymen Header tank fuel pressure was too low, starving the engines of fuel during landing. You can see one of them engines flameout and shut down, the other one turns green from being too oxygen rich, burning up the engine. |

At a time when the US government (NASA) cannot launch a human into space anymore due to our descent into third world Brazil status, a private company has reinvented the wheel with the intent of pushing further beyond where NASA left off. These are all necessary steps along the way, but the technology that they have advanced as far as reusable rockets are concerned, is quite remarkable. THAT is a huge advancement in bringing down costs. |

I'm busy learning about them. Well until you start launching stuff into orbit with something better, I guess companies like SpaceX will keep using good old chemical rocket propulsion. If SpaceX perfects starship it will be completely reusable and the fuel is a lot cheaper than the rocket itself. nah I'll wait for the (good) alien tech. I'm not holding my breath for SpaceX to reach perfection. they seem mostly like a bad joke to me. The company that makes the world's cheapest and most-used rocket seems like a bad joke to you? The company that beat Boeing to putting astronauts back in space from American soil on American rockets? Ok, cool story. You spelled low earth altitude wrong. 300 miles up is certainly NOT “space”! And No sweetheart. Nobody ever walked on the Moon. |
