Re: Sars Cov 2 … the grinder continues to eat away at resources and humanity.
Ready for a little uncovid, unprepper news?

I bought a totally unplanned item the other day for mental health. Mine!

We had to replace a microphone for the post and the only place that had them was one of the music stores in town. While Mr. TB was getting that, I was looking at the keyboards. I'm SO out of practice, since I had to leave my upright grand and gramma's big church organ in Texas. I haven't even touched a keyboard in several years.

Most of what they had were either beginner levels or performance keyboards. Neither of which would I use much. They had a Yamaha P-125 for a very decent price, so it followed me home. It's sitting on my kitchen table right now because I have to move some furniture around to put it in the corner I want it in. That's my project for the next couple of days.

I asked the store owner if I didn't buy it now, how long would it take to get another in. He said that it would be at least 6 months. After going through that with other things I ordered last year, I bought it off the floor. The very best part is I also got a good set of headphones so I can play to my heart's content and not bother anyone!

I know it's not the latest and greatest, but I love the touch and sound. I'm not professional anymore and won't be. This is enough and as long as there is electricity, I'm good.

I think so. The music made the move, but the cabinets didn't. I have to figure out what to unpack and where to put it.

The good news for y'all, is I won't have as many rants on here. I'll be taking it out on the poor keyboard. LOL I really miss my old upright.

That's awesome and so deserved!!! And uncanny..... I was thinking of you this morning and wondering if you would consider a keyboard since you mentioned not having your piano in your current house.

I looked at them last year when we were all locked down. Even though I watched all the videos, I didn't want to order one sight unseen. I've always been a purist but I had played a Yamaha Clavinova (sp?) years ago. I really wanted one, but we were in Europe at the time and the electricity was different. Besides, those are REALLY expensive.

I never thought I would ever get a keyboard, but desperate times call for desperate measures!

That sounds like fun, but I'm pretty sure I'm not on y'alls level these days! Plus, I have trifocals now and that is a whole new challenge. I thought it was hard with bifocals, but now? Whoooo, boy! I'll have to see if my computer glasses work. I ordered a Downtown Abbey book awhile ago, never knowing if I'd ever get to play out of it. I plugged the keyboard in at the table and sat down to play. OMG! Do you guys remember Lily Tomlin's routines of a little girl sitting in a HUGE rocker? That's how I felt! Kitchen chair WAY too low! I was glad no one was around to see me, hands too high and head bobbing to find the right lens! Too funny!

Give me a few months to stretch the hands back out to an octave and get the lens thing worked out.
