Interesting! Too late in the day for my brain to do a heavy read, but I'll check it out tomorrow.

The antacid drug is famotidine. I only know that because I was already taking it for reflux when this all started.

Hope y'all are doing ok down there. You're in my prayers.

CAT gets 2 stars and a cookie. i have thought the gut had something to do with covid for a while. was reports back to CHINA on things it caused that way. i'll keep smoking in that case to help keep the demon away.

that report earlier by GUYTHU is concerning. if it travels the spine that is nerve related. that is 1 body system we don't know very well.

on that i wonder what LYRICA does with the virus?

Thousands of San Francisco Bay Area residents were without power Sunday evening after showers, triggered by a cold front moving through the region, combined with layers of dust accumulated over several months of drought to short circuit dozens of power transformers and electrical lines. As of 7 a.m., there were still some 11,000 homes without electricity. There were 6,214 customers without power in the East Bay and 5,123 on the Peninsula. On Sunday night, Pacific Gas & Electric reported outages stretching from the Dublin-Pleasanton area in the East Bay to a large swath of neighborhoods between Colma and South San Francisco on the Peninsula

I mentioned around October 1st that we took our Jeep to the autoport on base for its annual service and they didn't have air cabin filters (for the AC). It's not like there's a Jeep dealership around here, so I ordered some from AutoZone. I was pleased that they delivered to an FPO and with free shipping. There was a shipping delay, but the filters arrived today.

Coincidentally, there was a YouTube video this morning (Economic Ninja) talking about an upcoming shortage of ALL filters.....oil, air, fuel, whatever, for cars, trucks, lawn mowers, generators, etc. There was also a thread on the main page about it.

Get these things now. Sorry for not linking the video or thread. It's late here.

I hope DM is okay, too, TB.

My apartment has been freezing for over a week. It's not freezing outside, but it is COLD inside. They haven't turned the heat on yet. There's no way to take the chill off in the morning.

If the power were to go out when it is truly cold outside (not that it gets that cold here, thank goodness), I will be in trouble. I'm going to order one of those 12v blankets that I could run off a Jackery if necessary. That plus a sleeping bag would work.

I hope everyone is thinking of a similar Plan B, especially if you live somewhere that gets very cold.

It's finally getting colder here. We had a nice Indian Summer, but it's over now. We had to turn the furnace on last night.

I got 2 new sleeping bags about a month ago. Our old ones aren't warm enough for up here. We've got Mr. TB's kerosun, we just need to get some kerosene for it.

We have a camp stove AND....a drip coffee maker that runs off the stove, too!!! Bought those back in the day. Good thing, too. Can't find our campfire percolator.

I'm thinking about getting a fire pit, even though we probably aren't allowed. We used to have a ring that we used a lot in Texas. We went to the recycling center and got a largish tire ring. They popped the center out for us and voila! Fire pit! Just like at the campground! We left it at our old house, along with all the wood, for the next owners.

Good job on the sleeping bags and coffee maker! I think our sleeping bags are probably good enough for here, but I would like better ones. I would love to have an outdoor fire pit one day. Right now I'm running a food dehydrator in my bedroom to add a modicum of heat. It actually works!
