Went to the store tonight. Sam's is out of tp and paper towels. I haven't seen that for about a year. They're out of canned cat food too.

Went to Meier too. Both stores are short of a lot of spices...most of them are gone. Produce is slim, but I could get what I wanted. Frozen food is slim at Meier. Nothing in normal supply and some things just not there. Junk food is still in good supply, but I can't eat that stuff!

I got some candy for the grands for V-day. Conversation hearts. The bags are SUPER small and cost way more than I've ever seen. Oh well, nobody needs a lot of candy anyway.

Our cases have plateaued and seem to be holding steady if not decreasing a little. Now to deal with all of the illnesses that were put to the side during this last wave. Primary Care Physicians need their asses kicked if they refused to see people because of covid. That's where a lot of the people coming to the ER start. The PCP sends people to the ER because they aren't seeing anyone in their offices right now. Fuckers. I wish the general public could see what really happens in the ER on the daily, but we all know a camera crew wouldn't be allowed to follow any employee in the hospital right now. The healthcare system isn't collapsing, it HAS collapsed.

Scientists from China’s Wuhan, where the Covid-19 virus was first discovered in 2019, have warned of a new type of coronavirus ‘NeoCov’ in South Africa, stated to have a high death and transmission rate, according to a report by the Russian news agency Sputnik.

However, according to the report, the NeoCov virus is not new. Associated with the MERS-CoV virus, it was discovered in outbreaks in Middle Eastern countries in 2012 and 2015 and is similar to the the SARS-CoV-2, which causes coronavirus in humans.
