Honestly, I got it at Disney World. This was the 3rd time we had been during the pandemic, BUT it was the first time without mask mandate. I remember being on the boat, yes a boat outside with wind blowing, and some asshat behind me coughing. I said, "at least cover your fucking mouth" and he stopped as others in the boat looked like they were glad I said it. I told my husband, "I bet I just got covid from that fuck". Yeah, I cussed a LOT at disney in that moment. LOL

I can't say i got it from him, but that's the only thing that stands out to me. My husband never got it. He was sitting beside me, but the guy was over my opposite shoulder. A few days later we drove 10 hours home and i felt like ass with a raw throat and just tired. I thought it was post-Disney syndrome because we walked 10 miles a day and it was allergy season. The next day we saw a movie, I felt better when I woke up, but that evening I felt bad again with the throat. I tested positive.

I've been taking care of covid pts the entire pandemic and never got it. The omicron variant is that contagious. Many, many of my medical friends who worked covid also finally got it. As odd as it sounds, most of us are relieved. We've been dancing with the devil so long it was exhausting. So far, so good with my recovery. I have added an aspirin to my daily vitamin regimen because clots scare the shit out of me. It could've been so much worse and I'm blessed with my outcome so far. Only thing I notice is my heart rate will go up higher than usual when I walk for exercise or walk up a few flights of stairs. I don't have the fatigue any more. I tested positive on May 27th and finally tested negative June 6.

Oh yeah, thank God for the Saharan Dust layer down here right now. It's hotter than usual and the Caribbean feels like bath water this early in the season. The USVI's are in a severe drought and are in desperate need for rain, BUT the locals are afraid we are due a storm. I'd have to agree with the high air and sea temps this summer/fall is going to be one to watch. I'm here until the end of September so I'll be able to give first hand reports if one blows up.

hmmmm, just a thought. the think tanks know how ppl will react to different scenarios. are they causing the inflated prices on purpose to control the public? with less $$, ppl do go out less. as ppl are working to pay bills and gas, they have less $$ for other non-essentials like restaraunts or outings or clothes. this does kinda control the ppl. plus they have less $$ to spend on food which means they buy less. a little food lasts longer on the shelves.

i've asked often, "what is the govern's next move and what plans have they got up their sleeves?" they may look dumb but that is cause their goal and tactics are way different than ppl want. the goal is not to save more ppl but to keep control and buy time. slowing sales does work to slow down the inevitable shortages.

I had not seen that. Italy is quite dependent on that gas to keep the electricity on.

In other Italy news, our trash hasn't been picked up in over a week. It is overflowing the dumpsters and there's not much we can do other than try to keep it as orderly as possible. But it's starting to look really bad.

I didn't change anything. But my husband started to travel more often thanks to the Ukraine situation. He is still wearing a legit N95 mask on commercial flights (as are most people over here in Europe, which tends to be a little more cautious than the US in general).

But when he had to go to London in March.....(1) the UK was having a major Covid outbreak, and (2) they traveled on a small military plane and didn't wear masks on the plane and probably not in some of the meetings. Several of them came back with Covid. I was exposed several days before he came down with symptoms.

My personal opinion is that the masks do provide a serious level of protection, as well as the mitigation efforts such as plexiglass and standing six feet apart in line, etc. I understand why people are tired of those things, but they do work. I continue to stay away from crowds and mask up when I need to go to the store. Covid was not the worst illness I have ever had, but it was not fun and I don't recommend it.

Lots of pets dying it seems. Young and suddenly. I had a friend post about a cat with fluid in the chest and possible cancer, another friend commented about thats what happened to their cat after they had Covid...I didn't screen shot it and went back to do it and the comment was deleted....so....

But I follow alot of dog pages on IG and stuff...AI directs that stuff to me on other platforms and have seen way more pet deaths in the last 6 months than I have ever seen.

I saw a rumor and thought i'd bring it back to y'all. let me clear up a few points with it so u don't get scared.

word is CHINA will attack US by NOV elections using "clean nukes".

"clean nukes" are supposedly a nuke that won't poison with radiation but will blast and cause a shockwave thereby destroying and killing. isn't that a bomb? not a nuclear warhead? umm WW2 style pre-A bomb. if it is a "clean nuke" then i'd expect that to b a freaking EMP even if it could blow with no radiation.

the concept has flaws. 1st a few bombs won't destroy the whole country. yes they could take down the metros. but not the hills and mountain regions. not with a shockwave effect, the shock would dissipate as it tried going round the APP's and Rockies.

2nd, why do all that damage to the infrastructure? takes ppl and $$ and time to fix it all. we all should know by now that would take YEARS.

3rd why bomb yourself or your bank?? either way u call it, we are owned by CHINA. CHINA could shut off the supply chain. no meds ,no packaging, and no goods. we'd b screwed. they could collapse the economy at a push of a button and make our dollars worth less than they are now.

4th a "clean nuke", IMO, would more aptly b an EMP. but see point 2 above. take years to repair. course u do have a year to move the transformers across the ocean while the ppl kill themselves off.

5> with no infrastructure there is no food moving back to the ports for CHINA. they gain nothing. they could suitcase nuke DC and accomplish more.

don't b fooled. if someone were to think up such a plan, TPTB would have them suicided quickly. they have plans and do not want the land nuked with or without radiation. there are easier ways to kill ppl without damaging the structures. virus ring a bell? just turn the grid off, no need for EMP. no damage is done. spray the ppl with a bacteria or chem agent via planes.
