I've heard reliably that plastic nursery pots and trays have not only tripled in price, but that they are becoming more difficult to find. Nursery is concerned about not having pots for fall mums or Christmas poinsettias.

It's because they've been caged like animals for almost 18 months.

This, combined with masks, barriers, distancing, and picking up on the fears of their parents, has affected a lot of kids.

I've observed signs of it in 4 of my grandkids in Illinois. They all(and parents) have tested negative, but metro areas in Illinois went full retard with lockdowns, fear inducing propaganda on the local news, and schools that were nothing more than prison camps for the youth.

Canceling PE classes and sports didn't help either.

Mine has been home the same amount of time and has zero signs of depression.

Investment into the child plays a large role. And zero social media for those under 13. And proper perspective on social media on the folks 13 and over.

You failed to read any of the covid 19 adult studies and mental illness. You think the kids are immune?

I have slowly been introducing my beautiful child back to the outdoors. Small walks.

Yesterday, within 5 minutes, he had the bright red flush that comes within 24 hours of a fever....

So about two hours ago.... first the nose bleed. Then the fever.

CC, blaming the kids depression on Tik-Tok is bullshit. It's nothing more than tv was to your generation. This stuff does a lot of things, but no. That's a cop out.

You need to look at things from the kids pov. All of a sudden, there's NO school, sports, music, class plays, proms, homecomings, scouts, 4-H, FFA, fair....do I need to go on? They couldn't see their friends, go to movies, the mall, all the things kids look forward to...GONE. For a year or better. Who, that age, wouldn't be depressed?

All those things are important to kids. Always has been. Blaming social media won't help. It might very well be the one thing that kept young people from going crazy. I can't believe I said that, I'm not a fan. But, true.

1. I don't have a fucking clue about the parents. The schools in Illinois got in to the kids heads. It didn't happen at home, because my family used, and uses, common sense about the whole situation. I was clearly alluding to the schools being run like prison camps.

2. I understand (from what you've posted) your situation concerning your child. And, I commend you for your perseverance. It's an admirable quality in my book.

3. Social media, for children and adults alike, can cause all sorts of problems. This is nothing new, and is not germane to the subject at hand IMO.

4. YOU fail to understand that you're not a know-all about everyone on this forum, or anywhere else for that matter. I'm sure that you would be amazed at what I've read, and the conclusions that I've gathered from said reading. A lot of my feigned obtuseness is strictly for your entertainment...and mine. I can always count on a total overreaction from you.
