I’ll be honest... I’ve personally always been confused when Jesus said “today, you’ll be with me in paradise.”

The reason is because I believe Jesus had to first go to Gehenna and release the captives. Most likely, he spent all 3 days down there.

Then he came back to earth, but had not yet ascended or been to the Father.

Then, much later, he ascends.

So why say, “today”? I guess a day is a year...?

Would love some brotherly feedback here.

Paradise was next to hades, Jesus went to preach there to the captives and now paradise is in heaven while hades is still under the earth

Paradise was Abraham’s bosom.

Jesus went there to preach to the spirits of the people that died before the law came.

We absolutely don't sleep. Read the verses most people call rapture verses and that's what happens to the believer right before his dies.
