While there are better chemicals, some people need the serotonin and dopamine release that alcohol provides...He probably can't think without it... I never forgive and I never forget I am a licensed firearm holder. I will, under protection of law, use lethal force if attacked. |

And that's a historical fact regardless of what your common-core-level education taught you. And then we cut a deal and welcomed those German expatriates to develope our space program and God only knows what other more clandestine operations. Just remember this: if a man will sell out his homeland, what makes you think he won't do it again to his adopted nation? And once you've digested that, explore how many U.S officials right now are carrying dual-citizenships. Citizenships that -by law- they are not required to disclose. Food for thought, Sport! But back on topic: FDR, Truman and Stalin and countless Generals [including Eisenhower, who favored Gin] all loved their daily intake of alcohol, too. Weirdly the only teetotaler in the bunch was old Adolf and look what it did to him! Last Edited by GSB/LTD on 01/12/2022 09:03 AM |

Quoting: EightyEight Maybe that's why he left certain things out of his world war two biography??? Damn shame his drunken state ruined the world... [link to allthatsinteresting.com (secure)] Winston’s Churchill’s achievements as prime minister of the U.K are hard to match. If you think about what you’ve accomplished versus what Churchill had, you may find yourself in a hole of despair. You may just want to reach for that bottle of beer or glass of whiskey to numb you from your lack of accomplishments. Unfortunately, in doing so you’ll only be furthering those feelings of inferiority. You see, Winston Churchill was also a boozer, a sot, a lover of alcohol and he could definitely outdrink you. Churchill’s unquenchable thirst for alcohol wasn’t exactly a secret. White House staffers in Franklin Roosevelt’s administration had a special term when Churchill came for a visit: “Winston Hours.” Basically, during this time the president and prime minister would get three sheets to the wind. Supposedly, Roosevelt needed to sleep for 10 hours a night for three nights to recover from “Winston Hours.” So am I, but i still patrol your streets at night and keep the wolves from your door. Google "functioning alcoholic" BTW, Churchill was a human person...shhhhh i know, don't tell anyone, it'll ruin their fantasy view of the world! |

In terms of nudity, this was not a sexual thing, he was just lazy. He invented the blue "boiler suit" image, because he would wake up late in the morning, so he would just put on the boiler suit so he could get going quickly. In one case, he went to review troops who noticed that, in addition to his boiler suit, he was still wearing his slippers by mistake. In the case of drinking, he was simply a party animal, a sort of overgrown schoolboy in that regard. Even so considering how many of is colleagues in the armed forces he'd seen shot to pieces and around him and his hyper-violent father who so gross abused him, it would be hardly surprising if he were self-medicating away what we now call PTSD. |

I think the reason was drunkards might be such good leaders is they tend to drink and sleep on their actions first, before they decide to take action. Often by then they are advised differently. Thus, decision get made better by doing not much of anything until necessary. By then it is clear what needs to be done as the guess work is obvious. |

Your worst tyrants are those that failed in the related arts like actors, poets, writers, and artist. We should be shocked that Reagan was so good a leader. Actually, I was shocked by Reagan. But then, he also had Nancy's astrologer providing sage advice! And while it's a bit of a generalization, you're correct in your comment regarding historical tyrants because they ALL carried some baggage that motivated them in one way or another. And even the good guys had similar issues: Churchill's was how badly he fucked-up Gallipoli and Reagan was allegedly haunted by his early days as a lifeguard when he couldn't save a drowning victim. I've always found it interesting that with only a few exceptions most tyrants were also short in stature. So, just remember: it's always the little guys that have the most to prove!
